If you ever had a crisis along the lines of "what do I really want? why is stuff happening to me? what is my purpose? how to be happy? how to find (inner) peace?" and kept a journal, it could have been turned into this book. If, of course, you were as great of a writer as Elizabeth Gilbert is. I read this book in 3 days, and then twice again. I underlined a lot of stuff that deeply resonated with me. Gilbert made me laugh (she's witty), I was moved (she is not afraid to show her vulnerability), touched (she's honest), consoled (she figured a lot of things out), given hope (she shows that even bad things happen for a reason), given lots of food for thought (she's a deep, original thinker), and so many times thought "oh yes, I've been there, too!" Gilbert is an excellent writer, and her book will have you spellbound. It's deep, it's spiritual, yet entertaining and a real pageturner. I've ordered several copies for my friends as gifts, and everyone wrote that this book is a true revelation and a joy (and a "can't put it down"). Buy it. It's one of those you'll keep rereading over and over again.
