I work in the food publication industry, and there are so many fallacies as well as fads that pop up every day. Dr. Clower has always told a true story - based on science and practical consumption/everyday living. His voice and presentation of information is so honest and approachable. For a topic that is very personal and challenging to so many trying to eat healthy or lose weight, he's a genuine partner in the process.'s chocolate. How can you go wrong? He dispells negative misconceptions on so many fronts and brings the positive truth of science/biology to life with this book. I loved it!

This book is not a gimmick; it's the real thing for people who love food. Don't expect that it's your free pass to devour an entire bag of M&M's thinking the pounds will fall off. Dr. Will Clower uses his scientific experience to break the myths that have us believe that since chocolate tastes good, it must be bad. Eat Chocolate, Lose Weight introduces the reader to eating and lifestyle habits that incorporate the right chocolate (type and amount) into a diet that satisfies the craving, while promoting good health. The delicious recipes are approachable for even novice cooks. What a great way to get kids to learn good eating habits that teach them early on that "diet" doesn't translate to "eat cardboard and raw veggies." Get this book and learn to love chocolate without the guilt. It's a perfect Valentine gift for chocolate lovers everywhere!

Dr. Clower has done it again with his new book. I LOVE chocolate but had overlooked the idea of incorporating it into my daily dining. Turns out it's good and good for you. I especially liked his suggestion of using dark chocolate to reset our cravings/tastes for sweet food. I could use that.

I enjoy Dr. Clower's books--practical, encouraging, with all the science you want, and written in his witty voice.

Now, for some Solid. Dark. Chocolate. . . And a lower BMI.

I have always said that if I was stranded on a desert island and could only have a single food there with me it would have to be chocolate! So the title of this book immediately caught my interest. Is it too good to be true?
Dr. Clower, a well known neurophysiologist, neuroscientist, and nutritionist, gives sound scientific evidence here that validates the book title.
Written in an informative but very entertaining style, the book challenges and tells what to expect as the diet is implemented.
Practical tips are given on how to do it. Inspiring accounts of those who have already succeeded add even more incentive to try this innovative approach to weight loss.
The creative recipes using chocolate made me want to go the kitchen and experiment!
Some of the recipes are not gluten or dairy free but could easily be adapted for those following those dietary restrictions.
As a cancer survivor, I am especially interested in the scientific data Dr. Clower gives here pertaining to the benefits of chocolate in helping to prevent cancer.
I was given an ebook version of this to read but it is so good I plan to obtain a hard copy!

I'm a diet junkie. I've been looking for something I can stick with. I liked the idea of eating chocolate (Who doesn't?). It didn't work quite the way I expected. A little weight came off and did stay off. However, the most important thing for me was that it actually "cured" my sweet tooth. Eating sweets was a necessity for me. I ate chocolate as was recommended. I found my favorite chocolate was 85% cocoa and had the least amount of sugar compared to others. I had a small piece of chocolate before and after lunch and dinner. I loved being able to have wine with the chocolate before dinner. I found in having the chocolate before a meal, I ate less. The chocolate after the meal was the perfect ender. I tried eating chocolate with more sugar and almost gagged. Goodby Sweet Tooth!
