Just go for it…

Westley Stone didn’t expect to survive being kidnapped and tortured by hunters, but he did, and only because a dragon literally dropped out of the sky to save him, and after waking up in the man’s house, he can’t help but feel grateful, and very attracted to his rescuer.

Chris Knucker has a thing against werewolves ever since his family was killed, but he’s willing to put old fears aside for the handsome man he’s just saved. The problem is that Westley seems a little shy to his advances, which makes sense when Chris discovers that Westley has to get married and produce a litter of wolf pups for his pack.

That’s fine. Chris knows the other man won’t go through with it, so it’s just a matter of waiting him out, and since Chris is the pack hero for saving Westley’s life, he has all the access he needs to slowly wear down Westley’s defenses. When Westley does finally come to him, he reveals another reason why he held back, something that could make them both very happy if only Westley can put his trust in Chris.

Author's Note: This is the story of how Chris and Westley from The Legend of the Werewolf, meet and fall in love. While there is a resolution to their immediate problem of will he/won't he? or should I/shouldn't I? The remainder is still concluded in another book which is M/F dominant. I've included the word Prequel in the title to avoid confusion.

What? I know it was supposed to be a novella but I turned the page and it just said "the end." I had no idea this was supposed to be part of a series. Good thing it is or I'd be even more upset.

This story lacked both meat and heat. Apparently these wolves can pick their mate, no soul mates decided by fate, which is fine but then there's all this emphasis on soul-bonding (which dragons can't do) so there is no resolution. Also, I like Westley (the werewolf) but I don't find out enough about how he ticks. I understand why he might like Chris (the dragon) but they don't spend enough time together to fall in love AND I don't know why Chris likes Westley. Westley shows no interest in Chris, other then blushing and being uncomfortable around him. Big draw for for Chris. Not.

Unless the next book has a lot more information and story regarding Westley and Chris this story was a waste. I'm going to read the next book but only because this story was so incomplete and I'm hoping it redeems this storyline. I like the characters just fine but I need a lot more so that's why I'm giving the next book a chance.

Point of fact...the novella is NOT 64 pages. it abruptly ends at the 84% mark and then there is the first chapter of the next book in the series.

If there was an indication that this was not a stand alone, I must've missed it. Apparently this story is partially continued in a follow up book. First, about this book. It opens up somewhat dramatically, with Westley needing help and Chris coming to the rescue. After that there is nothing else exciting or interesting. Even the love scene, which doesn't come until the very end, is dry as dust. The MC's are ok, but everyone else is drab. Just because it's a short story doesn't mean it shouldn't say much, and when it doesn't, I'm not interested enough to continue the series.

Westley is a werewolf captured by hunters who are torturing him for information about other packs and pack members. Once they are done they will skin him for his hide. They are about to do something particularly nasty to him when something swoops in and saves him. Turns out a Fire Dragon was flying by and saved him - when they touch Chris (the Fire Dragon) feels a zing. He takes Westley to his home, gives him Dragon blood and heals him. Then returns him to his pack and his father the Pack Master. Chris is welcomed because he saved the next Pack Master. Westley is expected to mate, probably Annie, but he has feelings for Chris. so there might be a problem here...
It is a nicely written story, but really although it is a novella and I know it is going to be short, the story just stops. Stops! Very disappointing from that perspective. Because of the shortness of the story just as you are getting invested in the characters it's over.

1.0 von 5 Sternen What story? 4. Dezember 2013

If I could I would have no stars. The summary of the book was more interesting than the book itself. Why do they like each other? Where is the emotion? The drama? It started out somewhat decent and then it was like oh I have no time for this they kiss the end. I think this whole thing needs to be rewritten, it could possible be a great story. Also how it ended, are you kidding me? Huh? Nothing resolved. It's like the issues the author raises with the dragon not liking wolves it was like two sentences and then no longer mattered like it disappeared. So sad I spent money on this. I would have been better off buying ice cream on a super hot day and just watching it melt, I would have gotten more satisfaction out of that then I did reading this.

I know it's free, but this book left me totally disappointed. It's short, but it drags on with no story whatever. you don't have time to connect with the characters, and the ending left me hanging. I'll not read the author after that. :(
