In this book, I've attempted to answer those questions by giving you 23 simple mistakes you're probably making, that if you stop will help you preserve your youth. Plastic surgery and all those "external fixes" can help of course, but if you are mistreating your body then it will look bad regardless of plastic surgery. You won't look vibrant, alive and full of youth. To look and feel like you are truly ageless you must follow certain principles. This book is going to help get you on that path.

Utter waste of money and kindle space. Here is why I say that.

As others have stated, her "insights" are vague restatements of things you might read in any current issue of More magazine, O mag or Good Housekeeping. You really would find more browsing the tabloids at the grocery checkout line and it would be more current.

The "chapter" divisions turned out to be paragraphs with such earth shattering statements like don't sleep more than 9 hours or eat alkaline stuff to prevent arthritis.

I've read plenty on alternative health matters and while much of what she says is right, she doesn't go into it enough to explain even how to use a particular statement such as don't eat too much sugar.

It would be useful if she included other reasons such as the glycation of proteins which is what happens when your blood sugars go up too far for too long which can happen LONG before developing Type 2 Diabetes, while your blood sugars still register as "normal".

Instead she terms low carb diets as mildly unhealthy and recommends the usual whole grains and even soya.

She issues a blanket statement against "chemicals" in makeup and cleaning products, and in foods that aren't organic telling the reader to avoid them.

Well, that is good advice such as it is, but which are the worst. She doesn't even tell you about the dirty dozen and clean 15 lists which are a great place to start changing to a partly organic diet based on chemical LOAD. This all or nothing type of statement isn't a good starting place for anyone to make well thought out changes.

It is NOT worth 3$ plus, which I paid, nor would it be worth anything since it isn't even the quality of a good magazine article. In a good article an author that refers to science research will give footnotes of where they got the idea, who from, what books and sites to go to for more information and so forth. This is lacking.

This book has many tips to help keep you looking young. There are over 20 things that can make you look older than you have to. These include the obvious like smoking and alcohol, but also include things that you may not have thought of like lack of sleep, eating enough good fat, poor make-up and wardrobe choices, and even how the wrong work out can age you. While the goal of this book is to help you look younger, there are many areas of the book that cover good habits, healthy diet, and overall health improvement. I really enjoyed reading this book, and found that there are quite a few things that I can improve upon. I think this book can help anyone who is already fighting the signs of aging, or is worried about preventing those signs.

I found by reading the book, Don’t Look Old that
we our self are doing things that age us quicker.
There are many helpful tips and warnings that can
help you from looking and feeling older than what
you are. What we eat, how much sleep we get or
don’t get, surgeries, and the most important,
stress, plays a big role in how our body ages.
Changing your mind set is the first important step
in helping you feel younger. It is natural for us
to view our self as we age as getting fat, or
wrinkles, thinning hair, and lack of energy. Raven
can help you with that if you follow her
suggestions on things you can do to help you stay
younger. Instead of using chemicals or surgeries
you should use natural methods such as massage,
yoga, and watching what kind of food you intake.
Those things will help get you started to looking
younger. You can get rid of the stresses that keep
you feeling down and tired by keeping journals or
viewing things a different way. She also teaches
that many aging problems could be genetics, such
as hair loss and many diseases. Unbalanced
hormones also play a big role in how we age and
feel both physically and emotionally. Raven gives
many tips and advice describing ways to prevent or
help reduce the pace that you age. If you really
want to help yourself in future years I would
recommend you read and try her methods to help you
stay strong and physically younger."

Don’t Look Old: 23 Things You Are Doing That Are Making You Look Older Than You Really Are (And How to Stop Doing Them) by Raven Heidrich was a lovely little book with a lot of good advice. As I have been getting older, it has really started to hit me the last few months, and I could not figure out why. Heidrich gives a lot of good tips on how to get back on track and start feeling younger right away. A lot of things contribute to that old feeling, many you would not even consider a factor, like the artificial sweetners in your diet soda, or something as simple as the oil you use when you’re cooking. My wife and I are going to take a lot of things from this book and use them to feel better. 5 star read, highly recommended!

This book has no scientific basis behind it. The author is not an authority on anything. It is like talking to your best friend from high school about girly things. If you want a serious book on how to look the best for your age, look somewhere else.
