Was mir bei diesem Buch im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Doctor Who- Büchern sehr gut gefällt, ist, dass sehr viel Gefühl vermittelt wird. Viele andere Bücher sind vom Inhalt her auch super zu lesen, jedoch fehlt oft eine gewisse Atmosphäre, die einen als Leser mit den Charakteren mitfühlen lässt. Und genau diese Atmosphäre bringt dieses Buch mit sich.
Ansonsten sind die Charaktere sehr seriengetreu gestaltet und die Geschichte an sich ist sehr schön. Ich empfehle das Buch also an alle Doctor Who Fans!

Der Doktor und Rose landen auf einem Planeten der eigentlich das Paradies sein sollte, trotzdem ist dem nicht so. Natürlich gehen die Beiden zum Teil mit Hilfe der Einheimischen und einiger Abenteurer dem Grund dafür auf die Spur. Selbstverständlich nicht ohne gewisse Gefahren für Leib und Seele.
Das Buch bietet grundsätzlich alles was man sich von einer Doctor Who Story wünschen kann: ein tolles Setting, interessante Nebencharaktere und ein Geheimnis, dass es zu enträtseln gibt. Es ist eine nette Abenteuergeschichte, von der Atmosphäre her vielleicht am ehesten mit dem "Planet of the Dead" Special zu vergleichen.
Das ist zugleich seine Stärke und seine Schwäche. Man hat zwar Spass daran während man es liest, letztendlich bleibt aber nicht viel davon zurück. Für DW Fans dennoch zu empfehlen.

You want the doctor? You've got the doctor. You want Rose? You've got Rose. You want wit and a twisty space plot? You've got those too. You want a complete summary of the book? Go somewhere else, I'm just here to tell you that this book is really good, and if you miss Rose/Doctor humor, peril, and repressed emotions, you should most definatly read it. Think of it as a missing episode, and you won't dissapointed.

No classic, but a good effort with recognizable characters

For those who miss Rose Tyler, this is a nice reminder of what she brought to the Doctor Who universe. The dialogue from both Rose and the Doctor is very much like the flesh-and-blood characters on the show. The story itself is really nothing new to anyone who's read much sci-fi (or watched much Star Trek, for that matter), but it's still enjoyable. My only other minor complaint (SPOILERS AHEAD) is that the Doctor and Rose are separated for extended portions of the story. I've always found the most enjoyable stories, and episodes, are those in which the Time Lord and his companion get to work together and bounce ideas and such off one another.
A good, quick read for fans of the show.

The story is a mystery set on an alien planet. There is action, adventure, monsters, but not a lot of gore or violence. The Tenth Doctor is at his best when trying to solve the mystery, pulling all the clues together in one big pile and working on them till he gets an answer. Both Rose and the Doctor seem to be in character and the setting is interesting, along with a few of the ideas that make up the theme of the novel. The idea of a truly balanced planet, where everything in nature works together, is the main merit of this paradise. And its greatest danger.
A good travel book. Light, solid, worth a once over. Has the feeling of a young adult novel or a Doctor Who episode from the 60's and 70's.
