I initially was very interested in this book because I was looking to gain more insight as both a paralegal (not specializing in family law) in California, and as a parent about to go through a child support modification hearing. I expected in-depth information, but that was not what I found in this book. Don't get me wrong, if you know very little about family law in California, then this book is likely a good start for you. If however, you already know the basics and you are looking for leads and an in-depth perspective on the laws in California, you will learn nothing new. I was expecting more information on the courts stance in specific legal situations, court documents that are applicable to the range of motions in the family law court system-- and nope, didn't find it.
