Design It, Knit It: Babies One way to practice using stitch patterns is to work on small garments, such as baby clothes. Debbie Bliss' new book offers that opportunity. Baby projects are small enough to finish quickly, but large enough to get the idea of how a pattern will work. The Bliss book lacks charts and only relies on knitted patterns and I find that a drawback. But the patterns themselves are enchanting. The sizes offered are generous, since there is rarely a need to knit an item that does not allow a baby to grow. One of the patterns I think I might work up is the Garter-Stitch Cardigan just to have in case I need a shower gift.
