How can a teenaged boy convince thousands of clansmen to come down, from their mountains, and fight the threat from the South?
Alden survived his trek to the North, but now he must follow his destiny and unite the clans in the North to battle Melor Helion's army, or all of them will die. The clansmen do not want to believe he is Altair's descendant and the blood of the Ice Wolf flows through his veins.
Pain, Anger, Fear. These three he must face. If he does, will the clansmen therefore follow where he leads?
Meanwhile, far away, on a little island in the sea, Alden's friends face battles of their own, and here, too, destiny plays a part. Who will survive? Who will die? Who will struggle against darkness? For one man, the darkness envelopes him and tears his soul asunder, ripping it in two. The joys of the present. The sorrow of the past.
In the end, only the sorrow remains.
