These tactics helped me become free of long term chronic pain

As a person who was crippled for about five years by Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (complex regional pain syndrome) I had the luck to find and become a patient of Dr. Galer. Together, along with a physical therapist and psychologist (both adept at chronic pain management), we beat RSD. It was not easy and required a combination of daily physical activity, a trial and error period of medications (until we found the right mix), and psychological support/education to create powerful thoughts and the right attitude needed to get better.
This book contains the strategies we used in detail, and it does so with heart and empathy for what chronic pain folks deal with daily. I believe that the strategies we used for RSD also apply to many other types of chronic pain described in the book.
These two authors know how disconnected healthcare professionals are when it comes to treating chronic pain successfully, and they provide a blueprint to help you know what to look for in help, what to look out for, and finally a framework that you and your providers can use to heal yourself...and, by the way - it can be done, and done without surgery. There is no magic pill (as this book will show) so please don't let anyone tell you there is just so they can make a buck, but by applying the three-pronged approach Drs. Galer and Argoff describe, coupled with your dedication and tenacity, you can defeat chronic pain!
