Kurzbeschreibung

This book features humorous and serious stories, as well as wild and hard-to-believe stories. From fishing and logging tales, to Sasquatch encounters - all of the stories are true. Some old Native (Indian) stories might have been passed over as legends from the past, when perhaps there is more to the stories than meets the eye. Some are spiritual stories that introduce topics from a new perspective, and with a different twist. Spirit boats, wolves, and killer whales wait within these pages. A mysterious, maniacal, bone-chilling scream breaks the silence of a remote inlet. The book's title is accurate. One little bird never sings again, but readers may be shocked to find that witching rods really do talk!

How witching rods talk 29. August 2010
Von Kevin M. Mcgill - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
This book is a collection of short, true stories that flow together and relate in an overall encompassing theme. Like the title suggests the topic of witching rods is addressed, and the author explains his theory of how they work and the interesting implications that result because of this. This book is unique in its ability to challenge the reader's paradigm and provoke further study while at the same time be light hearted enough to make the reader laugh aloud.

As with any good book that makes you think, not all people will likely be happy. The author while never intentionally rude, does not shy away from the politically incorrect topics that may offend some. Truth is stranger than fiction and some times harder to swallow too. The author grew up in an environment that had a pet blue heron that would fly down when whistled at,and a pet otter that would play tug of war like a dog. These stories are scattered through out the book and include pictures that testify to their validity.

The circumstances of the authors life play a large role in making up the stories that form the essence of the book. His findings of how witching rods work will undoubtedly make you think, whether his findings are true or not you will have to decide for yourself. If you are considering purchasing this book do so. It will be perhaps the most original and thought provoking book you have read in a long time.

Five stars for originality
Five stars for readability
Five stars for being daring enough to take on the monster of political correctness, in a serious, but often times funny sort of way.
Five stars for cohesiveness. All the true stories have a point, and if read from beginning to end, conclude with a sort of cinematic thought provoking climax.
Murray is a great storyteller 18. April 2012
Von Gayle - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Long ago, before computers, movies and even books (if you can imagine that), there were storytellers. Storytellers were extremely valued people. When I read Murray's book, I can imagine sitting around the campfire, listening to stories - some funny, some sad, some impart valuable knowledge, some are filled with wisdom, and everyone is captivated. Nobody wants the storyteller to stop - "just one more," I can hear the kids saying.

Murray is such a storyteller, and his book is the book the old storytellers would have written if they could. A collection of very human stories as well as valuable knowledge to pass down through the generations. Read, enjoy, and think! There are some surprises.
