Public libraries will definitely want to buy this collection of original short stories by Ray Bradbury, Joyce Carol Oates, Eric Lustbader, and others. The only question is whether to file it under sf/fantasy, horror, or general fiction; it is an exceedingly mixed bag, loosely held together by the theme of reality and illusion. Robert Weinberg's "Dealing with the Devil" shows us a priest gambling his own soul to save the already bartered souls of his parishioners; Matthew Costello's "The Last Vanish" provides an eerie answer to where things go when magicians make them disappear; Bradbury weaves a tale of a man who sees his exact double doing things he finds terribly embarrassing. I am sure that I am one of those dreamers David always wants to reach in his shows. I have already seen this fascinating event three times on stage and there is no end of being amazed of what he presents and does! Even more important are his very personal thoughts and experiences he shares with us -in fact strange people! The book and the selected storys could move you as well, because you can get an idea about who David really was and is. He writes: "To a great extend, what happend to the Adam character in 'Eagle' happened to me." I always wanted to learn about the boy David C., not only about the magician! The other storys are selected by him and reflect his own characteristic features: "Each tale presented me..." Hopefully, there will follow a third book with storys, all written by David himself! He remained a child in his heart and that is the reason why I like and value him that much. A great book for great fans!
Ich bin sicher, dass ich einer der Träumer bin, die David in seinen Shows erreichen möchte. Schon dreimal habe ich das faszinierende Event auf der Bühne gesehen und es ist kein Ende in Sicht, über das zu staunen, was er darstellt und tut. Noch viel wichtiger sind seine sehr persönlichen Gedanken und Erfahrungen, die er mit uns - eigentlich fremden Menschen- teilt. Das Buch und die ausgewählten Geschichten können einem genauso berühren, weil man einen Eindruck davon erhält, wer David wirklich war und ist. Er schreibt: "Zum Großteil ist das, was Adam in der Gechichte 'Adler' passiert ist, auch mir wiederfahren." Ich wollte immer etwas über den Jungen David erfahren, nicht nur über den Magier. Die anderen Geschichten wurden von ihm ausgesucht und spiegeln seine eigenen Charakterzüge: "Jede Geschichte zeigt mich..." Hoffentlich wird es bald ein drittes Buch geben mit Geschichten, die alle von David selbst geschrieben wurden. Er ist im seinem Herzen ein Kind geblieben und das ist der Grund dafür, dass ich ihn so sehr mag und schätze! Ein gutes Buch für richtige Fans!

David copperfield is a story that gives you courage and faith to deal with life during bad season in your daily life. David Copperfield grows up to be a lawyer, but he had a very hardtime growing up during his childhood.He had to face the consequences of his mother getting a new husband. During his childhood he met some wonderful people who made his dreams come true after the death of mother.
