One of my interests is books about war - have read anything from Jünger, biographies of German generals, Plevier, russian and english authors.
Nothing is a good as Beevor: accurate, emotional, using the great conflict of men to show the conflicts within men. The whole operation becomes tangible when Beevor describes the personalities of the persons involved, how single platoons move forward, what the overall scheme of thing was.
Will definitely buy more of his books, as this is my first. I'm looking forward to his Stalingrad book, which will be my next.
