Kurzbeschreibung

In a time when at least 50 percent of marriages end in divorce, the grim reality of failed and failing relationships can feel inevitable. After all, what hope is there for love when a vow to stay together forever seems to mean so little? Conflicts and resentment are tearing apart more couples than ever–or, worse yet, keeping them unhappily trapped together for the sake of the kids, finances, or personal beliefs. Desperate wives, husbands, and significant others turn to relationship self-help books to try and salvage their partnerships, but these books largely focus on dealing with the fights and hurt feelings that arise, rather than getting to the true root of the matter. This results in simply masking the symptoms of an unhealthy relationship, rather than healing the wounds from the inside out. Through Curiosity Killed the Spat, Joe Mellon hopes to change all that. Rather than being a simple relationship advice book, this is a full-fledged relationship education and restoration manual. The bold, straightforward style is ideal for anyone who is currently in a failing relationship, has ever weathered the storm of a broken partnership, or even someone who wishes to prevent it from happening in the future. With an innovative five-part program called The Melfox Method, Mellon presents a proactive guide designed to restore and preserve the intimacy, trust, and understanding in just about any relationship. Environment: Before the healing begins, you need to set the stage. In this section, you learn about the universal nemesis of healthy relationships, and how weeding it out begins with you and your partner staying on the same side. Information: In order to be successful at conflict resolution, it is important to establish empathy and come to a mutual understanding of the root cause of the conflict. Through challenging and clarifying what your partner says, and having your partner do the same, you will have the information you need to resolve any conflicts that may arise. Egoity: How do you protect yourself when you are feeling vulnerable? By shutting yourself off, making mean remarks, or cracking sarcastic jokes? These defensive reactions are a normal and natural warning system that, when controlled, can be used to pinpoint the root of the conflict to be resolved. Interaction: Next, it’s time to put your lessons to work. Discover how you and your partner can combine Information and Egoity into successful, conflict-busting sessions. Outcome: Finally, get a glimpse of the fruits of your labor. Learn about the expected results and diverse benefits you can enjoy from understanding and practicing The Melfox Method. From the newly single to the happily married, everyone has something to learn from Curiosity Killed the Spat. Through this comprehensive guide, learn how to get to the root of any relationship issue, while battling the true nemesis of successful partnerships. Your current and future relationships will thank you.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, he is a trained problem solver with professional experience as an industrial engineer, accountant, and systems manager. 5.0 von 5 Sternen An Extraordinary Book Offering Real Solutions 3. Januar 2014
Von Dennis Waller - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a book that academia would embrace yet it’s written in a style that everyday people can understand and better, actually enjoy. The principles taught in this book are remarkable in the aspect that you can apply them to any relationship. From your spouse, children, parents, neighbors, employees/employers, even down to the lady at the check-out line.

The stories throughout the book offer a different perspective while maintaining the focus of the lesson. One of my favorites is the Klondike tale. These stories are a form of illustration that works rather well in giving a boarder view to the points being made. Another aspect that I noticed is Joseph Mellon takes the approach of breaking the Melfox Method down into small digestible chucks, making it easier to understand and follow. With that in mind, this is a very thorough book rich in depth of wisdom and detail.

Joseph Jay Mellon has done an extraordinary job in presenting an in-depth book that can benefit anyone willing to invest the time to read. I have learned a lot from this book. I have applied some of the principles into my daily life and have seen an improvement in my relationships, both personal and professional.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Logical Solutions to Complex Relationship Problems 13. Januar 2014
Von Rebecca of Amazon - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Do you see your partner as the enemy?
Are you no longer attracted to your partner?
Do you no longer feel compatible?
Are you tired of fighting about the same things all the time?
Do you feel your relationship is dying?

Joseph Jay Mellon has written a very interesting book which addresses relationship problems. Mostly this book explains how to communicate effectively. There is a discussion on the importance of empathy. Other things to consider include resentment, defensiveness, compassion, patience and body language.

I thought the list of trigger words and phrases not to say was especially helpful.

I've read over 120 relationship and marriage books and I'm always intrigued when an author takes a new angle. This book is very original and will appeal to logical thinkers. Some of the jokes in the book also made me laugh so it is not all serious.

My conclusion is that I don't think resentment is the cause of all fights but is definitely the cause of many arguments. Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and that brings peace. How boring life would be if everyone thought the same way.

This book gives you the tools to make your relationship better.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Lots of 'Aha' moments 21. Oktober 2013
Von Tamara Scharf - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
Great read to open your mind about the stumbling blocks that can trip you up on the 'relationship road' and how to clear them out of the way. I liked the way the book is so easy to understand and so easy to read and spiked with a lot of real life situations and examples we can all identify with.
It's an approach that strikes me as common sense as I am reading, but at the same time quite novel and not something I have come across in any other literature, and the method employed here can really rescue a multitude of relationships, not just romantic ones. The main thing I take away from it is that by being open and trying to understand your partner rather than jumping to conclusions and 'expectong the worst' based on one's own fears, this encourages you to stop and breathe and remain curious and listen. In a world where everybody seems more eager to trading in one relationship for another, without addressing the problems, thus never actually learning how to relate properly to another person, this is definitely needed for all those who want meaningful long-term relationships...great read, and I look forward to practicing the Melfox method. :)

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent organization and easy to read. 7. Dezember 2013
Von rpv - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I liked the organization and content of the book. very well laid out through lot of diagrams, highlighted items in boxes, itemized bullet-ed points. Overall excellent organization. key takeaways from the Melfox method - environment, information, egoity, interaction and outcome constitute the crux of the book and explained very well. Author's writing style is very easy to read and hopefully saves relationships. One thing to note if relationship is not just in marriage, but even can be things like parent-children, employee-supervisor etc.

I was provided this ebook in exchange of a fair and honest review.
