Fascinating and well written!

Arthur Hughes has written a fascinating book that explores one of the most interesting characters in the Revolutionary War era.
Crispus Attucks helps you understand the complex and contradictory personalities who populated America. His book is not only enjoying to read but gives great insight into the era.

The Color of Freedom

The history of the American Revolution has for many years imbetted into the collective American memory the stories of those individuals who had struggled, suffered and in some cases had died inorder that the idea of liberty may take root in the rich soil of America. We all know some of their names,Washington,Jefferson, the Adams', etc, yet while many will only remember these individuals as merely images of marbel today, there is one personage who quite deserves his name to be added to those mentioned above, Crispus Attucks.
In this wounderful book, Dr. Arthur Hughes has crafted a marvelous story to which places flesh and blood unto the person of Crispus Attucks. He explores his unique position as a black man living in 18th century Boston from his early life to finally leading up to those events on that faithful snowy day in Boston in 1770 that ultimately brought him to stand not only for his own freedom, but for all Americans as well.
I wholeheartly recommend this book to all those who want to know not only about the seeds of our own revolution, but also to those who wish to understand that freedom and liberty have no color.
