Crisis Four is more or less the same like all others. Well, if you haven't read any of McNab's stories than you're well entertaint. However, after reading some of them, the basic story is always the same.
He has no money, he has to take care of somebody, he has to accept a job, he doesn't want to do - otherwise he'll loose the few things he has, he plans the operation, something went wrong, he'll loose his best mate, the mission is a success.
Seems to me that McNab is going over and over again the Bravo Two Zero Story. Probably, that's the way, he's dealing with this situation.
So basically I think that if you put all (fiction) stories from McNab together, then you have a pretty good idea what really happend in Iraq (at least from his point of view).
