4.0 von 5 Sternen Worth it for the summary alone 24. September 2011
Von Mike - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
Taking three AP courses this year, I figured I ought to purchased study guides for each. These Princeton Review books are worth every penny. A large portion of the book is simply a summary of all the topics covered in the exam. Need to know what happened in the War of 1812? This book covers it, straight and to the point. No frills or "wasted reading" that you seem to get from some textbooks. Definitely a huge help in conjunction with the texts. Not to mention there are 2 full practice tests to make sure you're on track.

At only $12 or so, there is no reason not to get this. Couple it with another study guide and something to get free shipping too.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great Overview of Entire History Course 9. Juni 2010
Von Isaac - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
I recently took an AP US History course and bought this book on previous experience with the AP World History book (which I got a five in).

This book is really handy because it internalizes the major eras of all the periods covered by the AP Exam. I found it particularly useful for the essay questions on the AP Test. However, I would discourage anyone from using this book if they are learning things from scratch without taking a history course. It's much better to take an accompanying US History course as this book tends to be more broad than others. Also, the "important" terms are bolded and indexed, making it extremely easy to search for specific terms in a period.

EDIT: 10/9/2011
I got a 5 in the AP US History exam too.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Solid review for AP Test 2. Juni 2012
Von Cole - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
I would like to start off by saying that this is probably the best APUSH test review booklet that you are going to find. It's not perfect and does have some flaws, but this one is by far the most helpful.

It features a very long, somewhat in-depth review of everything that happened in American history that could be covered on the test. It breaks up all the information into three categories; social, political and economic. Because of this, it tries to focus on the more important aspects that will be on the test. Some of the downfalls to this method is, that while it does a very nice job of giving an overarching picture of a time period, it sometimes misses certain events. For the most part this is all right, because it focuses on the things that tend to be more important on the test itself.

It also includes a section explaining certain trends and tips on how to take the test and understand the way it is working. It explains how to answer multiple choice questions, which most AP students should already know how todo. But what is very helpful, are the sections on the DBQ and FRQ. It explains specifically what the graders are looking for in an essay and how to structure it in the given amount of time. This is one of the most helpful things about the book, as most test takers weak points are the essay's.

The test also includes many many many sample questions at the end of each chapter to help you review what you just reviewed. Also in the back are two full tests, and it includes answers.

The only problem that I see with this book, is that while it is extensive, it alone is not enough to get a 4 or 5 on the AP test. To get a higher score, you would have needed to start studying about a month in advance for the test, reviewing you own notes from in-class. This booklet should be the final stage of your review. Just going over all of the information one more time, because as I said, it is not very specific and detailed. With prior studying and this book, however, you should do just fine and get a high score on the AP test!

5.0 von 5 Sternen A MUST HAVE! 17. Mai 2012
Von Jade Marie - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

The review in this book is a LIFESAVER! I didn't have a very good teacher, so 3 days before the test I was in a panic. I bought this, and read the entire review. I truly believe that this book gave me the info I needed to pass the exam. I haven't received my scores yet, but I knew most of the multiple choice and all the essays because of what I read in this book. AMAZING.

EDIT:
I got a 4 on the exam, so 3 days with this book gave me a 4 on one of the harder AP exams. Princeton Review is the best!

4.0 von 5 Sternen AP Review 10. April 2012
Von frequentbaker - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
The Princeton Review is comprehensive and user friendly. As an AP history Teacher I use it in class every year to review for the test. The short synopsis of each time period followed by a quiz, terms for students to fill in, and several full length tests make this guide hard to beat.
