Schlechter Titel für dieses Buch. Steht nichts bedeutendes drin, nur Lokale und Bars und Discos. Leider das Thema verfehlt. Hat mich geärgert, dass ich mir das bestellt habe.

New York City is one of the most fascinating and coolest cities in the World. It is considered to be the global financial capital, as well as an epicenter of many cultural and artistic trends. It is no wonder then that it's also one of the most visited tourist destinations, and its rich and vibrant offerings draw visitors from all corners of the world.

This short guidebook is intended for those New York visitors who want to experience some of the best and coolest attractions that the Big Apple has to offer. There is a section in this book dedicated to hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shops, and general attractions. Each of the establishments that are showcased is presented with beautiful and enticing photographs that capture the essence of its charm and allure. Most of these are fairly pricy, and this guidebook provides the reader with a rough range of prices at each of them. The book also provides ample textual information about these cool sites, all of which is presented in three different languages: English, German, French, and Spanish. This makes this guidebook particularly suitable for international visitors.

One of the main attractions of this pocked guidebook is its splendid design. The beautiful photographs and the high quality paper on which it's printed make this an enjoyable book to read even if you are not in New York. This guidebook works perfectly well as a coffee table book. So whether you are traveling to New York, or are just curious to find out more about its cool offerings, this will be a very enjoyable book to go through.

Most travel guides will tell you about public transportation, hotel and restaurant reviews, cultural centers and events, and famous landmarks. But, if you want a look at the city a bit more the way a native might think of it, throw "Cool New York" in with your regular travel guide.

'Cool,' in this case, doesn't mean jet-set only or some arcane definition shared by some small clique of literati. It means fun things you might not have thought of: water taxi, Cony Island, and the High Line - a old elevated rail station turned city park. Like a more traditional travel guide, this also mentions restaurants, hotels, and clubs - but these are chose for their funky atmospheres rather than generations-old pedigree. Shopping opportunities appear, too, including the marvelous Strand Bookstore (I could spend a whole day there) and the iconic F.A.O. Schwartz toy store.

Although this overlaps a bit with more familiar travel guides, it's its own creature, a complement rather than replacement. And, its small format makes it easy to throw in your bag for when you have a few unplanned hours in NYC
