Lots of pros and cons...
am 23. Juli 2005
Bridgman's paintings are flawed in two ways: The quality of the printing is simply inappropriate (black-and-white, washed-out prints of the original pencil sketches), and Bridgman only delivers very rudimentary sketches of anatomy. Given these two facts, it is very hard to make out much and learn from this book. Nonetheless, an advanced artist with half a dozen other anatomy books on his shelf might actually find "Constructive Anatomy" useful. Bridgman has an intelligent method of simplifying muscle groups, and several drawings - although in the beforementioned quality - give a much better impression of the actual muscle mass than comparable books (for example, Hogarth). This leaves me torn between one and five stars - three are appropriate, I hope.
