4.0 von 5 Sternen Legends Series Always Delivers 8. August 2006
Von Kathleen Crouch - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
The first reviewer is trying to hawk his own site, which offers bland computer-voice generated recitations of casebook opinions. They are horrible. Great concept, but in my opinion would be much more effective and enjoyable if these were read by actual human voices.

Now...to Law School Legends...I have used these supplemental lectures all through law school. They are very good. True, they do not always follow your own course outline to the letter, but they provide an EXCELLENT overview of the subject matter and can be very helpful to prepare for an upcoming lecture, by giving you a big picture view. Further, they are helpful for reviewing material you have already learned.

The best part? A real live law professor who sounds like a human being. One of my favorites is the woman professor who lectures on Real Property. Very lively. Con Law is very good too.

5.0 von 5 Sternen really good set of CDs for con law 27. Dezember 2006
Von L from NJ - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
I listen to these to and from law school. They cover the basic topics well. There is also an outline in PDF on the last CD.

Other people in the class also like to use flash cards however, I figure it might be a little dangerous to drive 65 mph on the NJ turnpike while looking through the flash cards. :)

4.0 von 5 Sternen Good overview of deeper con law themes 28. März 2012

I used the Law School Legends Torts, Contracts, Civil Procedure and Constitutional Law CD's during my first semester of 1L year. Here's what I thought:

Civ Pro: AWESOME. Richard Freer is a great teacher, the lectures are easy to follow, and it genuinely helped my studies.

Con Law: useful. Didn't go into the nuts and bolts we covered as much, but it gave some good deeper insights into Con Law.

Contracts: kinda helpful. K's is a pretty case/teacher-specific course, where the cases your prof uses really matter to them. He covered a lot of our material, but it wasn't always on point, and his voice is very distracting.

Torts: kinda helpful. He simplifies the concepts and pretty accurately predicts what issues will be most tested, but as torts is so fact and rule-specific, I found regular old studying more helpful than listening to the CD.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Good supplement - gives good prep for an exam 27. Dezember 2011
Von Finance Investigator - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

The narrator's voice is a little monotone and the CDs don't provide quite as much material as I had hoped. But, it does cover the main issues in Con Law that you are likely to see. He covers substantive due process, equal protection, broad and narrow readings of Marbury v. Madison, standing, and the Commerce clause. The first few weeks of Con Law are tough because it is unlike any other law class you will take. These CDs, however, will give you a good overview of what is going on in the class and the significance of the cases that you cover.

It's also good at prepping you for an exam because he covers what topics he believes are likely to be on an exam. He stressed the likelihood of seeing some sort of affirmative action question on an exam and that was one of the questions that our professor wrote for our exam.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great learning tool 26. Oktober 2009
Von J. Gayle - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
I am always interested in learning something new. I also have to deal with the law frequently(from the right side) and lawyers. I have always been interested in law but being a lawyer is not for me. While looking for interesting audio books to listen to on my way to work every day, I found this one. I realized I could learn a lot more about the law and all I had to do was sit back and listen so it was perfect for me.

Overall, it is a bit dry. It is however just like sitting in the back of a law school class except you can stop the instructor anytime you want without yelling shut-up, just press the pause button. It may not be for everyone, but I really liked not only the material but the entire idea of learning law on CD. I am sure you will find it dry and maybe boring if you have no interest in the law but give it a try even if you are not interested in law and you can learn something new. If you are interested in going to law school, definitely take this course before starting law school and it will help you jump ahead.

I really think it only deserves 4 stars because it is a little dry and even though it is long I would have liked to have seen it include more material, however looking over the reviews I see one unfair review so I am upping my rating by one star to 5.
