A careful editing job has resulted in a uniformly clear, didactic style that rewards the reader who is experimenting on a live system while reading along. After using the Compaq courseware and this book I noticed that it does not have enough information to pass the exams. Some basic information (ex. numeric pages alert codes) is missing. I don't recommend it.

This book covers maybe 70% of the Systems Technolgy Exam, 50% of the NT Intergration Exam and 50% of the Systems Management Exam. Syngress and the author's should be embrassed to have this book still on the market. I was better off buying the Exam Preps from Boson. Don't waste your time read the useless information contained between the covers of this book. I have made the decision not to use any of the Syngress books for any future certifications that I am pursuing.

For those of you trying to save thousands of dollars by skipping ASE classes, it's not going to happen with this book. I took the Compaq Systems Technologies test today, and at least a third of the questions were not referenced in this book. ( Especially the newer technologies such as the Profusion chipset) If you could magically go back in time and take the older exams (10-056 etc.) this book may be a bit more useful...

Syngress should be embarrassed
