A Q&A with Sri Vishwanath

Question: Why did you decide to write Seven Spiritual Strategies?

Sri Vishwanath: Seven Spiritual Strategies is a culmination of more than seven years and more than 10,000 hours of constantly evolving thought. During this process I wrote ten best-selling books on spirituality, got admitted thrice to a hospital’s intensive care unit, struggled with my personal goals, and had a troubled relationship.. I realised that if you want to achieve anything in life you need strategies. I wanted to gift the readers and myself something more than wisdom and philosophy. something more tangible could hold on to in their daily life… In many ways the book wrote itself through me.

Q: What makes Seven Spiritual Strategies different from other spiritual and self help books?

SV:The heart of Seven Spiritual strategies is the discovery of the Enlightenment Code.. Chapter 8 reveals the Ecode(the enlightenment code) Who would believe me when I say I was enlightened without a guru and without having spent years in a Himalayan cave?

I had hit upon the superior method, and reached the ultimate destination. The superior method is all that you need to experience this sublime feeling. Everything else is secondary. The usual methods used to attract and inveigle you into the world of spirituality are inferior and should be recognized for what they are. But with the Ecode you’re now on the right track and not likely to be ever derailed.

Q: Do you have a favorite chapter or section of Seven Spiritual Strategies?

SV:That’s a good question. My favourite sections change every week:) Chapter 4 is my pick. It has got two contrasting stories of what “powerful connection” with the self can really help you achieve and how it can dramatically influence, improve and help you get rid of mental blocks. I also love Chapter 8(The enlightenment code) that evolved as I was writing the book.

Q: Why do you say that enlightenment is easy?

SV:There is a popular Buddhist saying “First enlightenment then laundry” . Enlightenment was always meant to be easy. It was never complex. The lifes that we chose to live after being enlightened is in many ways a complex one. If you get access to world class teachers in spirituality there is no reason you cannot be enlightened in less than eight hours.. What you do after being enlightened is the real challenge..

Q: Who is this book written for?

SV:This book is written for both men and women who have a burning desire to get in touch with the better part of their personality. You will gain instant clarity on some of the most seemingly complex questions of human life . Your thoughts will become crystal clear, your mind calm like never before and your energy vibrant and ready to gift you the best things in life. It’s also great for kids as they will enjoy the contrasting stories and the seeds of enlightenment will be automatically sowed in them. This book would make a great family tool, or even a tool for spiritual clubs or friends discussing arm chair philosophy to serve as a benchmark for spiritual evolution.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Interesting, but... 1. April 2012

There was a lot of interesting information in this book, however, there were also many contradictions. Most books of this type are from either a Christian, Buddhist or New Age point of view. This book approached it from the viewpoint of Hinduism, and for that alone, it was interesting. If you are unfamiliar with Hindu sacred texts, there were some good references and stories. The book itself was easy to read and had minimal typographical and grammatical errors. The problems I had were with the direct contradictions.
At the very beginning of the book, the author advises against note taking, saying that you will remember what you need to. Then, at the end of each chapter, he provides a few pages entitled "Notes:" Already, I am cautious. There are, upon close reading, several other contradictions along the way. After a quote of Krishna saying that he hates none and favors none, there is a story where Krishna and Arjuna visit one of Krishna's "favorite devotees." What? No favorites, but favorites? The most striking example, however, is when Krishna states that "there is no being in this world or in the world of heaven" who is free from the agents of change, yet the author advises the reader that he must raise his vibrational level to be free of the agents of change. Who is correct? Krishna or the author? How is it possible to do- on the advice of a mere mortal- what a god says is impossible? The author also falls into the "all gods are one" trap, but that is very common in non-Christian books of a spiritual nature. It is a nice thought, but there is no evidence that it is true.
This book is clearly not capable of speeding up your enlightenment to the extent the author claims. However, no book is. If you are looking for some secret shortcut in life, you are probably not going to be able to get it from a book. Only personal insight will come close to accomplishing that, and even then there are no guarantees. Enlightenment is not an event, it is a process.
I do give the author credit for his approach to defining "karma." In most books, it is erroneously described to be similar to some cosmic Santa Claus with a "Naughty" and "Nice" list. However, the true purpose of karma is to ensure that you learn the lessons that you need to learn in order to proceed. This book makes that concept easier to understand.
If you expect to become privy to some great secret from reading this book, you will be disappointed. However, if you want to learn a bit about Hindu spiritual concepts or just stretch your wings a bit spiritually I would recommend this book or one similar. There is certainly nothing harmful in it, and much food for thought. The verses quoted from the various sacred texts were well chosen, and give a better understanding into the viewpoints behind them. The poetry was nice if you like that style of poetry. I far preferred the prose, however.
I see that the author has several books available. I do not know if this would be the ideal starting point, as I am not familiar with his other works. I will reserve judgement on their accuracy, however, when reading any book on spirituality the reader has to decide for themselves how applicable it is to their life and how valuable the information contained in the works is to them. All books of this type are a mix of wheat and chaff, and it is up to the reader to separate the two.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Seven Spiritual Strategies Review 8. Februar 2012

Amazon fan of Seven Spiritual Strategies by Sri Vishwanath

'Seven Spiritual Strategies' is another exceptional book by Sri Vishwanath. When you are looking to understand the Spiritual life in an easy and simplistic way, you have that book right here. In this book you will find answers to questions you have asked yourself a million times and are never sure of the right response. Let me give you an example. You have asked the questions," What is my purpose in life?"," How long do I have to meditate before I see any progress?", or How do I detach myself from my present concepts and perceptions?". In this book you will easily find answers to these and more questions. It is beneficial to those just starting to inquire about a new path in life as well as those who have been on the Spiritual path for a long time. As I have done, you will thank Sri for his easy manner with your transition and/or further knowledge of the process to the Spiritual life.

This is a very informative book. I've read it once and will go back to it time and again. It needs to be absorbed a little at a time. The ideas are excellent. I am eagerly looking forward to implementing the ideas into my life. Much better than sitting under a tree for 20 years. Thanks for writing this wonderful book!

This book is far too coy with it's stated purpose. It runs on and on with, arguably, entertaining stories from obscure Indian texts but is constantly dangling the "carrot" of its title to the reader.

After 100 pages, I want to be told, exactly, what ARE the 7 signs of a Spiritual Awakening?

Also, some of the "exercises" seem off the wall, particularly since the reader is not really made sure of their purpose. One thumb down.

4.0 von 5 Sternen An Excellent Practical Resource for True Realization 11. März 2012
Von Santhu - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
An excellent and practical resource for true "self" realization. Trillions of matters have been written and preached on Self realization. But, I must say, this is one of the most honest, upright, "light weight", sincere and it most importantly, "it works". The reason I mentioned "light", was because the material is without jargon, without any attachments of any kind, and very adaptable. This may require some stringent practice and discipline as any successful endeavor in life deems. Yet, the best thing about this is that "Sri Viswanath" here speaks honestly and sincerely from his experiences.

I would sincerely suggest it to even those who have nothing to do with self realization, meditation, yoga or other things. This is sure to benefit them too. In fact, it may make you more staunch and firm in your belief as it directly works on your self.

It gives clear reasoning and staunch faith for person from any socio-religious background.

Thanks for Sri Viswanath for bringing this out and sharing the secret of the ECode with all.
