The Come Rest message is right on with is focus and tenderness. You can almost feel yourself relaxing as your read it! This is not relaxation that leads to passivity but
true rest that leads to true productivity. I personally have to go back and re-read chunks of this book as I find myself feeling anxious or worried. If I find myself comparing my external success to others and coming up short I remember my first love must be the loving embrace of Christ Jesus.
Richard Speight does such an amazing job conveying these profound truths of how to rest in the arms of Jesus. It seems as you read the book the message is so simple yet the whole time you realize we don't yet get it! It becomes very apparent that to live the come rest life is to swim up stream. Funny how much work it is to stay at rest! But its only from a position of rest that we can truly embody Christ. Its only from a position of rest that the world is really going to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
