This latter can also apply to bodily, emotional, and spiritual clutter, all of which Kingston describes with characteristic passion. In an age of accumulation, it's good to see a book that frees up life again.

I agree with many of the reviews which state that this is NOT truly a Feng Shui book. While I think it's shameless Ms. Kingston has inserted the word "Feng Shui" to jump on the bagua bandwagon, overall she does have reasonable ideas and philosophies in why it's time to clear it out.
I would recommend this book as a quick motivational pick-me-up in anti-accumulation. I have referred back to it now and then to remind myself to go thru my closets every season. As for Feng Shui, I would recommend books by Lillian Too, or the book mentioned by the previous reviewer, by Terah Kathryn Collins.
The chapter on internal clutter is laughable, and somewhat brings into question her sanity and credibility. Had it not been for her unsupported claims, I would have felt comfortable giving her at least 3 stars, unfortunately, this is not so.
Overall, this is an "OK" book for clutter clearing, but don't buy this if you are looking for feng shui, it simply is not in here much.

Karen Kingston makes great arguments in why one should finally pick up the mess that surrounds. While her reasons for clearing clutter may be Feng Shui based, there is very little actual Feng Shui in this book which may be a disappointment for those that are seeking it. An excellent Feng Shui book I would recommend is by Terah Kathryn Collins and is titled "The Western Guide to Feng Shui Room by Room".
I would skip the chapter on clutter clearing your body, too much "quack" ideas with no nitty gritty scientific evidence. I believe there is another review here which specifically sites research which has been done to disprove the entire "bowel-cleansing" segment. Sure, fiber is good for you, but let's just leave it at that!
Overall this is a quick read. It gives many reasons to stop the pack-rat mentality, clear the clutter, and open up to new positive energy that awaits.
A great clutter book I would recommend is by Sandra Fulton. She's written many in this genre. The two I would recommend are "The Messie Motivator" and "The Messies Manual". Sandra goes into detail regarding a system for cleaning (in "The Messie Motivator") which was helpful. She also goes into more details of the psyche behind the typical clutter collector, I think many "messies" will relate.
So although Karen Kingston's book provides motivation to clear it up, there are far better books available for both Feng Shui and clutter clearing.

This book has changed my life!!It is a must for anyone who has trouble keeping clutter under control!I am a reformed clutterholic!! I have been a hoarder my whole life since high school, but after karen explained everything with so much sense and understanding, its like she broke an evil spell. I have now almost clutter cleared my entire 4 bedroom house and I have never felt so free,happy and at peace with myself. Now instead of dreading my house because it is so messy,I love it. I am a Law graduate, a skeptic but I tell your this book really works. Since clutter clearing,I feel happier, my mind is clearer and my relationships have improved. Everything karen says in the book is true. She makes you laugh and then you want to clean up your mess. You can feel like she really cares about you. Her book helped me so much I even went to a seminar she held in London!!My husband was so shocked by the change in me he started reading the book and even went to the seminar with me. People who I have passed this book onto have all benefited. If junk and clutter has been haunting your life for long enough, then take action now...let Karen help you, it will be one of the best things you have ever done !!
