Everyone I've talked to about this book loved it as much as I did. While I was reading, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, not from fright, but from the emotional charge. It makes sense that children are likely to remember past lives as their open minds allow them to experience a trance state that adults have to practice to achieve, and maybe more children relive their former lives than we think. Carol Bowman gives us a guide for recognizing and handling such episodes. She writes not just as a researcher, but as a mother who has seen her own children go through the experience.

If there is such a thing as reincarnation, then this book is a must read for all parents. Carol has given first hand examples drwan from experiences of her own children....which is great because as parents you could be in her position( maybe), but will now know what to do and how to react. For the skeptic, who still thinks past life regression is all creative genius and a way to earn more money by therapies and books, should read Dr Ian Stevenson's 'Twenty cases suggestive of reincarnation" and "where reincarnation and biology intersect". If that's not proof, then nothing is. You would be insane to dismiss reincarnation completely. Just read it......

What a day and time we live in. Where children can be themselves and share what they see and feel without being told to shush. I think Carol Bowmans book shares some wonderful stories not only of childrens past lives, but opens out minds that have been sealed shut over the many years. Carols book discusses fears she saw in her own children, loud noises, strange eczema on her sons hand...the fear and trauma of both these, were relieved with a regression therapy. I have always found this topic intriguing, so I enjoyed the many cases shared in this book. I thouroughly enjoyed the fact that Carol took the reader from the trauma the child was suffering, to the regression, what was there, what the child spoke of, their fears as well as their loves in the past life, and then went on to tell how the child healed after the therapy. Nice job. As I read the book I noticed how elegantly she touched on all subject matter of each case. The only reason I didn't rate this a 5 star,
was I purchased the paperback, and the type was very small. Part of the way through the book I actually thought about ordering the hardcover edition for better print. If you have not bought this book yet, and your eyes are any less than 20/20, get the hardcover, the book is worth the few extra dollars! I felt I bought alot of knowledge and enjoyment for my $ I would not of minded forking out the extra for easier reading text.

This past semester, I took a class on Tibetan religions. Before taking this class, I had no idea that beliefs based on reincarnation had any real evidence to support it. However, I quickly realized that I was wrong. There were phenomena involved in Tibetan death rituals which suggested a validity in their beliefs. This new knowledge prompted a curiousity about other research on reincarntion. Bowman's book was a great introduction into this research, as it is set up like a thesis. She cites other prominent scientists and their findings and tells many stories of her own and of people that she's talked to about evidence of reincarnation in children. Each story is fascinating and raises more and more questions. The only thing that I didn't like about the book is the amount of extra exposition on her own life. For example, when talking about taking her children to Florida, she writes about their day at Disney World. This has nothing to do with the research or the later chapter on past life regression, it is just extra "fluff". Despite that, I would strongly recommend this book for anyone with even a slight curiousity on this subject.
