Das Buch bietet genau das, was es im Titel verspricht, nämlich Charakterbögen für die dritte Edition von D&D; nicht mehr und nicht weniger.
Schön ist, daß es für alle Charakterklassen ein eigenes Blatt gibt, die Spruchlisten für die Zauberkundigen sollten sich als recht nützlich erweisen, alle Bögen lassen sich gut kopieren (wozu selbstverständlich auch das Recht besteht), aber leider gibt es keinen Grund, für das Gebotene gutes Geld zu bezahlen!
Die Grundform der Bögen befindet sich bereits im Player's Handbook. Charaktere können gut mit dem mitgelieferten Charaktergenerator ausgedruckt werden. Und wem das nicht mehr genügt, der kann exzellente character sheets im Internet umsonst finden. Und die Tatsache, daß ein Leser diesen Text lesen kann, ist Beweis genug für seine Fähigkeit, Informationen im Internet zu finden. Alles in allem also eine Anschaffung, die sich höchstens für sehr suchunwillige oder übermäßig reiche D&D-Spieler lohnen dürfte.

Am Besten die Finger weg lassen!
Zum Glück hatte ich die Gelegenheit, diesen Stapel Altpapier im RL zu sehen, sonst hätte ich das Ding noch gekauft... ;-)
Lieblos zusammengeschustert findet man hier den Charakterbogen aus dem 3rd Edition Player's Handbook plus einigem Zusatzmaterial, wie z.B.: Der grandios designte Charakterbogen für den Barbaren besteht dann aus einem Standardbogen, in den ziemlich lieblos bei "Class" "Barbarian" und bei "Hit Dice" "d12" eingetippt wurde, und das nicht mal ordentlich ausgerichtet. Tolle Sache, WotC! Nur nicht zuviel Arbeit machen...
Das Produkt ist nicht mal für die faulsten unter den Spielern / Spieleleitern zu empfehlen. Eigentlich ein Kandidat für 0 Sterne.

Excellent, but over-priced

The first thing you'll likely experience when you buy these sheets is sublime pleasure - the design is gorgeous, each class has its own customized sheet, and the pages are very well-designed, making it very easy for you to find the information you need quickly during play. The next thing you'll feel (about 5 minutes later) is profound disappointment. Considering the tremendous bargain Wizards of the Coast gave us in the Player's Handbook, why did they feel the need to rob us blind ($9.95? ) for a tiny ream of paper? With the *extremely* limited number of sheets, you will find yourself making frequent and immediate trips to your nearest scanner or photocopier (with WotC's blessing, of course). Considering the ease with which the sheets are printed, however, they could have easily given us 3 times as many sheets for the price.
Overall, however, I am extremely pleased with the new layout. The design flows logically, and allows you to quickly create a character; the sheets are made of a high-quality paper that erases easily (but woe unto you who must use photocopies!). With their comprehensive details, logical format, and impressive completeness, they actually remind me of the well-regarded Permanent Character Record Folder of days gone by (TSR, 1980-81).
My final verdict is a mixed one. If money is not an object, you will be thrilled with these high-quality records; they will save you time and quickly make themselves indispensable. But if you were expecting a bargain (logically, since the PHB is one, hands down), you may well want to hook up your printer and use the PHB CD-ROM character generator instead.

Almost perfect-Definitely a welcome addition to the game!

I would give the product five stars but I have a few items to mention. Other than the mentions that will follow, I found the sheets to be an excellent tool for keeping track of the character and complicated NPCs. There is even a sheet for animal companions/familiars with space on the back for detailing complicated magical items. There is a seperate sheet, front and back, for each of the character classes. Then there are spell sheets with spell listings for each of the spell casting classes. Here's the first place that the sheets run afoul of the real world. A lot of time and money has been spent on creating new spells for all the classes and 3E now looks like a small list compared to the supplements that are available in so many places. A player can pencil her favorite extra spells in, but then she might wind up with a cluttered sheet anyway. If you are playing strictly by the books however, it is excellent. There is a little bit of this involved in the PC sheets as well. Players will want to bring in special classes. There is a generic PC sheet included but it won't be as nice as the customized sheets for say, a cleric, which includes the Turning Undead table. Again, those who follow the rule book closely will find this accessory indespensible. Do you want nitpicking? The barbarian sheet indicates that the character gets a d8 for hitpoints when the player handbook clearly indicates the barbarian gets d12. Small thing to pick on, but it makes one wonder if there aren't one or two more missed typos. Even if you are into making your own character sheets by pencil or laser printer, you would do well to consider these sheets as reference for your own layout. The inside cover is a detailed process for building your character. One more plus, the back cover has one of my favorite new artwork pieces from 3E. It is a female Halfling Rogue. I'll admit that I am biased, I like halflings and this one is a great representation of the new and improved halfling race.I am quite glad to have purchased this item.

Save your money

There are a couple of problems with these sheets. First, you are paying $10 for 15 sheets of paper. There is one sheet per character class, which means you'll be making lots of copies. Two, they are just too small. The information is crammed into these sheets, so prepare to write small. There are some better options. One, just photocopy the sheet that comes with the PHB. Two, use the character generator CD-ROM that comes with the PHB. Three, download one off the internet. Four, create your own sheets. All of these options are, for all intents and purposes, free. I found a much better sheet online that has a lot more room to write things, so I don't have to squint to see what I wrote. I will say that the layout of the sheets is actually good, but there just isn't space. I would recommend not getting these sheets.
