This was definitely a fun read; good mystery, hot romance. Read the Amazon Book Description for a brief synopsis of the plot and main characters, it gives you the general gist.
At this writing, Amazon has this book categorized in "Mystery, Thriller, Suspense" as well as "Romance" sections with the "Mystery..." category leading the trend. I have been waffling over my agreement with the order of the categorization. Is this a really good mystery/detective-type story with a really hot romance (with an alpha-male billionaire, of course) secondary or vice versa? I am going to follow Amazon's lead and classify it as a mystery first, romance second. No matter, it is a really good read for either genre. As with a sentiment noted by another reviewer about a different book; if this were a movie it would be thoroughly enjoyed by my hubby and other guys. Think a mash up of the Thomas Crowne Affair, Entrapment and True Lies.
CAT GOT YOUR TONGUE? is a whole, standalone book and a good one. However, author Rae Rivers placed enough threads in the story to build a series around Alexis Foxley's Body Armor protection service and agents. So, like Oliver Twist, I am asking Rae Rivers, "Please, sir (ma’am), I want some more.”
Okay, my little negative: I kept getting brain hiccups on what seemed to me misspellings/malapropisms. Later on it became apparent it had more to do with British spelling when I recognized the use of non-American slang (shag, really!). Further explained when I discovered author is South African. The characters could have certainly had a Brit/European background but story was set primarily in New York city with no back story to offset the Austin Powers-ish slang.
