Kurzbeschreibung

Cupid the Cat is fed up with his Lady, Ann. She has no taste in men. Her current boyfriend reeks of cologne, is deliberately careless with his feet, and openly states that dogs are fundamentally superior to cats. However, Craig, Cupid and Ann's human neighbor, is practically perfect. He’s handy with a can opener, he politely steps around napping felines, and he never ever turns up the stereo to earsplitting decibels. It also doesn’t hurt that Craig and his cute Siamese lady-cat come as a package deal.

The way to a cat’s heart may be a can of tuna, but Cupid’s having a little trouble figuring out the key to human relationships. Helping Craig win Ann’s heart proves to be an unexpected challenge. Cupid will have to employ all of his feline wiles to purge the place of the odious cat-hating boyfriend and ensure a happily-ever-after for Craig and Ann.

This sweet PG-rated romantic comedy is standard novella length (27,000 words) and will take an adult reader of average speed about an hour and a half to finish. Contains inexplicit sexual references, mature themes and implied strong language.

This is a story told by an 8 year old Tom cat living with his single mistress, My Lady Ann, as he refers to her. This is a very smart cat very upset with his mistress' latest boyfriend and he sets out to break them up and pick a higher evolved mate for ann. In this case, just about anything would have been a higher evolved mate. The cat is funny and it is interesting to see his point of view on things. I had no problems with him. In fact he is probably the smartest one in this story and definitely has higher morals and standards.

However, his mistress' has the morals of something lower than an alley cat. She breaks up with one boyfriend that she was having sex with the night they broke up and a week later she tries to take down the lawyer 2 flights down while in a drunken state. I just had a problem with her willingness to have sex with just about anything that walked. Her best friend, a 30 year old valley girl came across as stupid and completely unable to speak a complete sentence. I know everyone needs a friend, but to think you are going to hook this chick up with a college educated lawyer is a bit of a stretch.

Plus, our Lady Ann has the maturity level of an 11 year old. she is dating the lawyer hot and heavy, a woman shows up on her doorstep asking for him and she throws everything away because he didn't tell her he was engaged YEARS ago and that this woman is happily married and was in town briefly and stopped by to say hello. She never even gave him a chance to explain this woman and then when she did she acted like he just sold her first born. Are you kidding me? Her previous boyfriend was eating at her house most days of the week, she did his laundry, she had sex with him, they NEVER went out anywhere, he was not only stealing from her but freeloading as well and she lets him hang around until the cat trips him up and she finds out he was cheating as well. But she didn't have problems with all of that?

In my head I just have her pictured not as a fairly decent human being that you would want to introduce your friends to but a slutty nut case. I really didn't see any chemistry between two of them or why he would even get involved with her. I liked the cat and really hope things wind up going well for him. As for the humans in the story, not so much. I did quit reading when she started getting calls for the old boyfriend from bill collectors trying to get money from her for his debts. She didn't sign anything for him why would she think she owed anyone anything? And when her valley girl friend suggest she ask the lawyer for help, she informs her she is still mad at him and so to not speak to him would make him suffer a little longer. She wants him to suffer for something he didn't even do and she is painting him with the same brush as the loser ex. Just don't get the rational. I quit reading. Quite frankly, I hope he moved out of the apartment building, takes her cat with him and he never sees her again! That would be a HEA.

When a cat decides to get rid of his owner's current loser boyfriend, he decides to live up to his name of Cupid. He intends to set her up with the new downstairs neighbor who just happens to have a lovely lady cat.

The tale is told from the cat's point of view. He goes back and forth between knowing all about the human world to the more reasonable quasi-understanding that an animal would have. For example, he doesn't k ow what customer relations are but does know what a lawyer is. But for the most part, the cat comes off as the smartest and most likeable character in the story. Of course, since it is all from his point of view his take on things should be considered biased to say the least.

There is no foul language used in the story which is a very good thing. But to replace said language, the author uses ####. Reading a sentence like, " He is a ### #### ####### ####.", is almost as bad as using that type of language. It definitely got annoying.

I felt this was a cute premise for a story, but not being that much of a cat person kept me from falling in love with it. To me, it started to drag. This was especially true during the strange breakup that felt forced. I would have been just as happy if the story had ended with them being happy and never going through that bit of nonsense, but I guess the author felt it was necessary to show the difference in the Ann's feelings.

Cat lovers who like not so serious romances should like this story. If nothing else, it was short and a free download.

First off let me say I love cats and romance novels but this book did not pull it off
at all for me. Honestly a cat flipping through a cell phone for a number??? The
characters are nice, the cats are nice and thats about it. Predictable plot with
nothing really exciting happening.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Cute! 5. Mai 2014

A cute, light fast read from the cat's perspective. Not a lot of depth and the characters (besides Cupid) are lightly drawn because of that reason but really cute story. The cat shares as much as he can from his owner's POV, but it would have been great to hear everyone else's voice and if they ever wondered at Cupid's antics.

I did not care for this book, several times I put it down then thought maybe it would get better, but to me it was a total waste of time.
