Knowing that Canon and Nikon don't print their own user guides any more, I got this book with the G12 because it was cheaper than the competition. At first, I was dismayed that the book doesn't say anything about one of the most obvious controls on the camera-the front dial. The parts-ID photos in the book don't even recognize it as a control. I had to read the G12 PDF to figure out what to call it. So I printed out two chapters of the PDF and went to work learning the menus, and soon found that I couldn't get far with the PDF alone. It was probably written by engineers. The Magic Lantern Guide is accurate, clear, and organized in a way that makes it much easier to master the operation of the camera. So I would give it 5 stars if it hadn't simply omitted discussion of some items, but it's worth a solid 4 stars anyway.
