A Cool Avatar Collection Piece

I'm an admitted Avatar fanatic, and you probably have to be one to really like stuff like this. But this really is a nicely produced oversized shiny book with a lot of unusual stuff in it. It comes in a beautiful slipcase. A pocket in the slipcase holds your 3D glasses; these are the red-green type, but the frames are made of pretty heavy plastic, not the cheap cardboard kind. The book is full of double page 3D images from the movie Avatar (I'm also a 3D fan), and they look pretty impressive; not like the movie, of course, but about as good as this of 3D can get.
There are a number of playing cards tucked in little pockets thruout the book (I haven't counted yet, but I'm guessing 52 cards?). I'll have to find out what you do with these. Plus there are pull-out small posters, 3D on one side, 2D on the other, plus a little fold up box to put your cards in. There is text along with the pictures expounding on Avatar stuff.
If you love all things Avatar, you will really enjoy this. A nice, classy, fun book.

An awesome visual experience

I like this book for two big reasons: I love being able to see some of the scenes from the movie in 3D and it's a nice edition to a 3D library or visual wonders library. It comes in a nice slipcase that contains a compartment for the 3D glasses. Highly recommended for fans of the movie and visual delights.

Really poor 3D

Are they kidding? Beautiful book, but the 3D is terrible! Really poor conversions, some of the worst I've seen... which is especially distressing since they could have gotten the original stereo versions from the studio (they SHOULD have!). One guy says "this is as good as (anaglyph) gets". That is VERY wrong. Try one of David E. Klutho's books if you want to see the best in anaglyph. Fox/Whitman Books should be ashamed of themselves.
