Kerry Guthrie had just finished the performance of a lifetime. But, while her fiancé and she were traveling to tell her parents of their engagement, they were sideswiped by a truck. The wreck caused Kerry loses her career as a star dancer and had her fiancé walk away from her. When she was healing, a friend, Myron Placer, was retiring from the ballet troop and asked Kerry to help to start up a dance studio called Leaps and Bounds in Brea, California. Now seven years later Kerry was still wishing that she could return to New York and be a star again. She loved working with her students though. Some showed great promise, like young Melanie Layne and Tom Hadley, who danced a duet. Tom was more of a show dancer but Melanie had the making a new rising star.

Kerry was hoping that Melanie would be able to go to New York to further her studies. Melanie's father Police Lieutenant Chris Layne doesn't want Melanie to go to New York to study. Chris thinks that Melanie was unprepared for life away from home because she had spent most of her time taking dance classes and not going out into the real world. A ten-year-old girl named Suzie Ezell, who wanted very much to become a ballerina; started coming to the studio so did her brother Jamie. Melanie was smitten by Jamie, but all Chris saw was a punk who was going to ruin his daughter life.

Jacqueline Diamond story By Leaps and Bounds is a wonderful story of what we think we want and what we really need are two different things. You see how Kerry's life changed from what she thought she wanted to what she really needed. I enjoyed this story very much, this is one that you can settle back in favorite chair and enjoy.

"By leaps and bounds" is a great novel about discovering yourself and finding love when you least expect it.

Kerry Guthrie was a ballerina in her prime, when an accident ends her career. Now she is leaving in LA teaching ballerinas all with the hopes that she can one day return to her career in New York as a prima ballerina. Now 28 Kerry has to decide if she really wants to make a comeback, or if she wants to pursue a new career as a choreographer.

Chris Layne is the father of Kerry's top student Melanie, and when they met there is a instant connection. As their attraction grows they learn more about each other and help each other discover what they really want in life.

This book also shows a second romance going on between Melanie the top dancer and Jamie, whose little sister Suzie trains at Leaps and bound dance studio. Melanie & Jamie are very different from one another but that doesn't stop them from starting relationship.

Overall this was a GREAT book that I can see myself reading over and over again. Hats off to the Author!!!!!
