BREAD IS THE DEVIL is just like a private appointment with Heather Bauer.
I'm Lucky because I get to see Heather in person, and she has helped turn my life around. I lost 70 pounds in one year, and I've kept it off. It's not about counting calories or denying yourself your favorite foods or a relentless regiment or extreme anything. That never worked for me. I needed easy. It is about knowing your own Diet Devils and dealing with them. It is not about giving up on foods you like, but about knowing their impact and when you can afford to have them. It's not that you can never have bread. I only have it when it is part of something I really like, a Really Great Bacon Cheeseburger or Pizza, and I only need to do that a couple of times in a month. And chocolate. I'm a chocoholic, and I used to get chocolate through ice cream. Not worth it. I now enjoy sampling high quality, high cocoa content dark chocolate with some fresh fruit. A candy bar that would've lasted 4 seconds now lasts 4 days. And then there's FREE foods. I can count on FREE healthy foods (greens, fresh vegetables) to fill me up. My eating habits have been transformed for life. My taste buds have even improved. I enjoy good food whereas I used to just consume it, whether I am eating out or cooking at home.
What drove me to do this? Surprisingly (to me) it was not vanity. It was my health. I tested positive for diabetes and knew I had to do something to lose weight. With Heather's help, I did it. Diabetes gone.
Other Benefits: At 54, I'm able to wear some of the classic suits I bought when I was 30, and people notice!
