This little book covers all the bases. It gives a very nice history of the art of the Bowen Technique, discusses what it's good for, has some theory on how it works, and finally gives practical instructions for the layperson on how to do it himself. The language is clear and accessible. There are very clear b&w diagrams and photographs, and with some reading one could figure out how to do a decent treatment with this. Also, the anecdotes in the back of how people used the technique in their lives for healing gives one new ideas and inspiration. Overall, it's just a super little book for the beginner. What needs work is the editing. This book has multiple misspellings and punctuation errors, which are distracting. If you're going to put this much time and effort into writing a book, then you should get translators and editors who know how to use a comma. I was especially intrigued by the anecdote of the male "colleague who had been suffering from tendovaginitis on his right forearm for two weeks" (p. 85). Sounds painful. And hideous. That poor man!
If you can read the book and not be bothered by the idiotic typos, misspellings and bad punctuation, you'll find that it's actually a very useful book that's sure to win your heart.
