The Blunderer is one of the best novels I've ever read. It's about Walter who is married to Clara. But the time when they were happy together had gone a long time before. Today Walter is frustrated because he realises that he isn't in love anymore with his wife. One day he reads in the newspaper a story about a murder of a woman. Walter is fascinated about the thought that the murderer could have been her husband...A few days later his wife Clara is dead. I don't want to tell you more about the story, I just say that this book is worth reading.

I absolutely loved the book. I actually planned to read the book step by step. But it totally captivated me. I read the book in only three days, which - I guess - has to be a new personal record. But why am I so enthusiastic about this book? The helplessness, the gruesome fantasies, the people's faults, it all reminded me of the human beings. There was no science-fiction. The story was realistic, every single action in the book is how life can be: It's about status (the main person loses his good reputation in a hair-raising way), psychological weaknesses, lies and many other things that people suffer from.I, as a reader, felt involved in the book. I understood the main person's dilemma between being guilty and saying the truth. And whenever the main character takes a wrong decision I knew it was not correct but I had to admit that I wouldn't have done anything else. Every step the main person takes is easy to comprehend - even the solution he chose is terrible. Easily, you identify yourself with the people and their situation (is huge). A brilliant book.
