---- Book II in the Thriller Award-nominated Huntress/FBI series ----

Twenty-five years have passed since a savage killer terrorized California, massacring three ordinary families before disappearing without a trace.

The haunted child who was the only surviving victim of his rampage is now wanted by the FBI for brutal crimes of her own, and Special Agent Matthew Roarke is on an interstate manhunt for her, despite his conflicted sympathies for her history and motives.

But when his search for her unearths evidence of new family slayings, the dangerous woman Roarke seeks - and wants - may be his only hope of preventing another bloodbath.

It is highly recommended that you read Book I of the series, Huntress Moon, first.

4.0 von 5 Sternen a female vigilante killer- good idea 13. Oktober 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the 3rd book of this author that I read. All with great characters and a thrilling story. I would like to give them all 5 stars, but the endings are too abrupt. The tension is getting higher and higher, and just when you are really hooked theres the end. The profiling is a joke and very holywoodlike, but I loved the idea of a female vigilante killer, this was well done, the serial killer so not.
But I think this is an author who will definitely get better and I will be looking for more

Unbedingt vorher den ersten Teil Huntress Moon lesen. Spannend geschrieben mit sympathischen Hauptpersonen. Man zittert mit und hofft, dass Cara nicht gefasst wird. Warte schon auf das nächste Buch

This is part to of Huntress Moon. I liked both books very much. Alexandra Sokoloff is an excelent writer, who is in line with Tess Gerritsen and Val Mc Dermid. The story is about Cara Lindstrom who survived the murder of her whole family.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Alexandra Sokoloff has done it again! 28. April 2013
Von Sarah W - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition
The first book in her Huntress/FBI thriller series, Huntress Moon, blew me away. An eerie merging of the logic and legwork of a police procedural and the intuition and symbolism of magical thinking--something at which this author has always excelled--it unearthed a fundamental connection between an unlikely serial killer and the man charged with tracking her down.

In Blood Moon, that connection is becoming a serious problem for Special Agent Roarke.

Honestly, it was nearly impossible to set this book aside for mundane things like eating, driving, and work and it's so tightly woven that it's impossible to describe my favorite bits without spoiling the whole thing. But there's a symbol that appears briefly that works well in describing the feel of this book: a decorative pair of hearts, wrapped in barbed wire. It doesn't get more fitting than that.

Alexandra Sokoloff is one heck of a writer--I hope she's a quick one, too, because I want to know what happens next, NOW!

5.0 von 5 Sternen The Huntress Is Back! 1. Mai 2013

The killer who kills killers is almost becoming a trope these days, but no one does it as affectingly as Alex Sokoloff. The addition of the dedicated FBI agent who's simultaneously drawn to the beautiful vigilante, terrified of what she might do to him or others around him, and grimly determined to bring her in gives this series a powerful charge. You won't be able to put it down. I couldn't.

Having loved Huntress Moon, I was looking forward to Blood Moon. Well developed characters with almost constant action. I know that Cara is technically a serial killer, but you have to love the rules she plays by. Rourke is becoming one of my favorite cops. The ending indicates a trilogy. Waiting for ________ Moon. Hurry up Alex.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Strong Characters / Fast-Paced Plot 9. Mai 2013
Von TheSWalks - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
The book and author were recommended by Margaret Maron, of whom I am a big fan. The beginning seemed sluggish, and the point-of-view transitions were too abrupt and disjointed. However, within a few chapters, the author seemed to gain more confidence and these problems disappeared. The plot was intriguing and fast-paced, and the characters were interesting and well-developed. (And I didn't need a flow chart to keep track of who's who!) As I continued to read, the author's style began to remind me of the early novels written by Faye Kellerman and Patricia Cornwell. (Which I consider to be Cornwell's better efforts.) I did feel that the moral conflict experienced by the lead male character was over exaggerated, and I began to scan over these sections when they failed to add anything relevant to the story-line. I enjoyed the novel enough that I couldn't put it down; I will read other novels by the author. On a side note, electronic format software is still in the early stages of development and the few grammatical errors I encountered seemed connected to this.
