    Kurzbeschreibung

She was a dangerous beauty, the enemy he couldn't resist . . .

Daughter of the King of the Assassins, Zahirah was trained to be as deadly as she is beautiful. When she steals into the desert camp of the English army, she has one goal: to banish the crusaders from her homeland by murdering King Richard the Lionheart. Her deceptive strategy delivers her into the hands of the enemy--and puts her at the mercy of the dashing Black Lion, Sebastian of Montborne.

Fighting for peace in a dangerous, exotic land, Sebastian never dreamed that the tides of war would bring him a mysterious beauty in need of his protection. Nor could he guess that the lady who ignites his heart is the very enemy he has sworn to destroy on behalf of his king. Caught in a deadly game of passion and deception, their unbidden love could cost Sebastian and Zahirah their lives. . . .

“Has everything I look for in a good medieval romance: a strong hero, an intelligent and caring heroine, a really unpleasant villain, and plenty of atmosphere. It also has a few unexpected twists and turns, which complement an excellent plot . . . the romance is pure gold.” -All About Romance (Grade A / Desert Isle Keeper)

    4.0 von 5 Sternen die Lion-Serie geht weiter... 18. Dezember 2011
    Von emdawi
    Format:Taschenbuch

In this enchanting new romance by National Readers Choice Award winner Tina St. John, no one is what they seem--and love is more dangerous than any could ever imagine....

BLACK LION'S BRIDE is an excellent medieval romance by one of the genre's rising stars. Riveting action, heated sensuality, an exciting plot, and strong emotional characters that live and breathe like real people make this a medieval romance that stands out. The unusual setting of the Holy Land during the Third Crusade is also a nice added touch that only adds to the book's appeal. Highly recommended romance!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Unique Medieval Romance 18. April 2005
Von Luna - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

This is one of my favorite romance books because it is wonderfully different from the typical medieval romance tale. It has depth, tension (not just romantic tension), and uniqueness. One of the major things I've been annoyed by in romance books (esp. those by Johanna Lindsey) is that they either make you really pity the main characters or make the heroine unbelievably headstrong..to a point where you just want to slap some sense into them when they are in their defiance mode. This book doesn't appear to use either of those techniques and I am truly grateful for not having to roll my eyes after every page.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Tina St. John's Best Book So Far! 30. April 2002
    Von "celticgoddess76" - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
    Format:Taschenbuch
Just when you think an author can't possibly top her previous books, she writes a daring, sexy, book like BLACK LION'S BRIDE and blows you away! This book has it all - action, adventure, an exotic setting, bigger than life characters, and sensuality that will leave you breathless.
I loved Sebastian of Montborne from his first appearance in WHITE LION'S LADY. He was noble and honorable then, but in this book he really lives up to his hero status. Strong, intelligent, sexy as hell, he is a hero to sigh over. And Zahirah, the assassin who has a secret mission to kill King Richard the Lionheart is one of the most tortured heroines I've ever read. I sympathized with her even as I wondered how she and Sebastian could ever work through the obstacles between them. And I loved the fact that she was actually a capable assassin and not just a misunderstood innocent who would never hurt a fly. Zahirah kicks butt and I loved it!
BLACK LION'S BRIDE is a definite contender for my favorite book of 2002. It's exciting, passionate, suspenseful, and very different from the usual medieval. Read it and you will see why I am raving over it! (P.S. to Ms. St. John or her publisher - can we get a story on Sebastian's Scottish friend Logan someday? He was great!)

    2.0 von 5 Sternen Don't worry everyone . . . 19. Juni 2014
Von morehumanthanhuman - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I will be discussing spoilers in this review, as it is difficult to talk about what disturbed me so much about this book without doing that.

I really enjoyedWhite Lion's Lady (Warrior Trilogy (historical romance) Book 1). It was sweet, exciting, and -- I thought -- true to the historical period while still maintaining a romantic feel. Buying this second book in the trilogy, I thought, would be a no-brainer, especially since the hero is the brother of the hero from the first book.

However, they were totally different and I really, really didn't like this book at all.

It's hard to think of the ending as anything but a "Don't worry everyone, she's really white" play, especially after the violence (and, in some cases, smelliness) of Muslims is brought up frequently throughout the book. Kind of lost in the shuffle is the fact that, well, it's the Crusades and the knights weren't hanging out to do a fun cultural exchange. The only Islamic character who is shown in a positive light is Abdul, the faithful servant who has turned his back on his people in order to carry water for the great Sebastian.

There were also some seriously tone deaf historical mishaps, something that surprised me given how deftly I felt Adrian handled cultural realities in the previous book. The idea of a female assassin, the idea that the "King of the Assassins" thought she would be leverage serious enough to cause Sebastian to kill his king, these things left me rolling my eyes.

    4.0 von 5 Sternen Captivating! 4.5 (four stars and a half) 21. Juni 2002
Von Clear Blue Sky - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

Tina St. John distinguishes herself as a leader in the Romance Novel writing industry. The story, Black Lion's Bride, had many spins and turns woven into it and I found that this is not in the least a predictable book as much for romance novels go.
If you want to be swept away right along with the characters of the story, I encourage you to read Black Lion's Bride.
