Just what I've been searching for!!! So easy to understand! 7. Januar 2004
Von Tracy Keys - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe
I love this little Bible story book. I have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old, and the Bible stories that I've had just can't keep their attention because they are too "over their heads." This one is just great. They are short and sweet for short attention spans. They capture the very heart of the message and put it just the way you would talk to a toddler. My 5 yr old niece came for a visit and got really excited about it also, because she could read it and understand it for herself. I definitely recommend!

theological differences 28. Oktober 2011
Von Rachel Campbell - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe
I got this Bible for my 16 month old, and so far it has been fine for her daily Bible stories. However, I would have liked the stories to be a bit longer, but still it is nice there are so many. I also like the size, which is perfect for her at this age. She enjoys looking at the pictures.

One major issue I have with this Bible is that it depicts Jesus' baptism incorrectly. In the picture, Jesus is being 'poured' or 'sprinkled', when in reality He really was immersed. Since we do not even believe in sprinkling or pouring as forms of baptism, this was a bit upsetting for me. Just wanted to let others know if this would concern them as well.

very good but not great 21. Dezember 2007
Von The Sweet Life - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

While I love the read-aloud Bible stories from Ella Lindvall I was a little disappointed with this Bible. The one thing that I didn't like was the fact that it does have pictures of Jesus in it for the New Testament stories. Lindvall seemed to make a special effort in the read-aloud stories to have images of Christ from behind so that there was no "face-shot" but it is not so in this little volume. The illustrations are very good and the stories are nice and short and easy to read. Overall I liked it much much better than many of the other illustrated Children's Bibles out there but might go with the classic volume by Voss if I had it to do over again.

The Bible in Pictures for Toddlers 2. August 2005
Von V. Fisher - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe Verifizierter Kauf
I'm a big fan of Ella K. Lindvall so I was quite disappointed when reading through this children's Bible story book. First the positives: loved the illustrations, loved the padded cover, the 2-page format for each story, and an equal number of Old Testament and New Testament stories - about 70 stories in all. However, in simplifying the language the author has substituted the word "juice" for "wine." Wine is simply not juice. Better to choose other stories than to change the biblical content. If sacraments are seen as symbols in your Christian tradition, this book will not be so offensive to you. In my opinion, as a Lutheran Director of Christian Education, Lindvall's "Read Aloud Bible Stories" in 4 volumes (which also have wonderful illustrations) are a far better choice for toddlers as far as content is concerned.

Good, but be careful! 17. Januar 2012
Von RachelinSoutheastMichigan - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

While I appreciate the simplicity of the stories, I just thought to mention that there are a few things that some Christians may not believe to be biblical. Especially troubling to me was the statement that God no longer speaks to people today like He once did in Bible times. Certainly, I agree that all prophesy must be weighed against Scripture, and if what seems to be a word from God contradicts the Bible, it is false. On the other hand, according to my understanding of 1 Corinthians 14:39 (quoted below), it is also wrong to say that God no longer communicates with men directly, even by speaking to them.
"Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues."
There may be some who support the author's view; however, I wanted to mention that to people interested in this book so that they are aware of what it teaches. May the Lord guide you as you consider this purchase.
