When I first began collecting Holocaust reincarnation stories back in 1981, I had no idea there would be so many, or that my book would play such an important role in healing these cases. Since the book first came out in 1992, it has become a definitive classic in the field of reincarnation studies, and is frequently cited by past-life therapists, theologians, and other writers on the subject of rebirth.
When I first began collecting Holocaust reincarnation stories back in 1981, I had no idea there would be so many, or that my book would play such an important role in healing these cases. Since the book first came out in 1992, it has become a definitive classic in the field of reincarnation studies, and is frequently cited by past-life therapists, theologians, and other writers on the subject of rebirth.
In addition, BEYOND THE ASHES has served as an important window into the world of Jewish spirituality, by helping to educate the general public about Jewish teachings on reincarnation, the afterlife, levels of the soul, "karmic healing," etc. I can honestly say that my book contains some of the clearest explanations on the market.
Although I am currently retired from reincarnation counseling, the interest in this book and its companion sequel, FROM ASHES TO HEALING, is still so great, that I maintain a listserv for people who want to discuss the boo! ! ks and/or their own cases of reincarnation from the Holocaust. that has ever appeared. Rabbi Yonasham Gershomb does not just present tales that we can believe or not but explaines what he does and what his role in a consultation is. He gives a lot of background on jewish sources on the subject that give the non-jewish reader
a deep insight into hasidic mysticism.
Rabbi reveales secret knowledge that is known to the inner teachings of all religions, so whatever your path is, here you can learn what this teachings are good for and how they can help to heal the most severe problems of our times. Here is the book for everyone who still thinks that all this sophisticated talk about reincarnation, soul travelling and spiritual guidance is only some esoteric sounding blabla. I originally bought this book more for the Jewish theology than the reincarnation cases as such. When it first came out back in 1992, it was the only book around that explained anything about Jewish reincarnation teachings in a way that didn't require three Ph.Ds. The Rabbi's open, personal style made me feel like he was teaching me as an equal, not talking down to me from some ivory tower somewhere.
It was also the only book that offered a more sophisticated view of the Holocaust than the stupid "karmic payback" theories that were floating around back then (and now, too.) In my opinion, this book did more than any book I know of to make New Agers re-examine their negative Old Age attitudes about Jews and Judaism. It's a reincarnation classic and still a must-read. It sure changed my ideas about "Jewish karma" -- and my life, too.

For thos seeking answers, or merely wishing to learn more about re-incarnation, Beyond the Ashes is a must read. Rabbi Gershom presents to the reader an opportunity to learn from the words of others who have a personal story to tell. It was like sitting around a fire, and talking with old friends, and coming to understand the wisdom of an elder who has alot to share, and doors to open. Rabbi Gershom has eloquently, and honestly presented one of many paths to understanding, without the use of intimadating scientific jargon, or methods of preaching that can squash the inquiring mind, and force those who truly want to find answers back into isolation. What also strikes me about this book, is it's uncanny ability to not be found, so much as it's ability to find those who truly need to read it's pages.
