I am an Italian collector of orders and decorations. I can say that a book like Mr. Niemann's one was really long awaited. Each piece has a description that goes far beyond what we're used to find on price lists. Even the beginner can use it as an easy and comprehensive reference. The prices are honestly indicated, and most collectors know how serious Mr. Niemann is in his business. The illustrations are clear and it's interesting to see that future updates are foreseen, covering even minor aspects of the German faleristics. This book will take its place amongst the other "historical" german handbooks of von Heyden and Hessenthal-Schreiber. This is not actually a "pocket book", but worth the place it occupies in any collector's case!
