i have been reading a lot about Advaita and came across this book. it simply drew me into the here and now and i love how Joey explains and points with such simplicity to what can be felt only with the heart and is beyond words. i can warmly recommend this book - it has touched me deeply and left a huge impact on me. best thing ever was that i aloud myself to come to a complete STOP. that was something wonderful. Thank you Joey for that wonderful gift.

Joey described his suffering and liberation in full details. Entertaining and an eye-opener. If you are a seeker this is a stop sign along the road and while stopping you might realize the futility of seeking. Highly recommended.

Might just be the one! 19. Mai 2014
Von Amazon Customer - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition
I downloaded this and one other Joey Lott books ' freedom from the approval trap' and although it's only the second day I've been reading and (rereading all my highlighted sections) I want to write a review as both a Thankyou to him and a helpful review to others. I've been on the never ending self help train now for 17 years, compulsively buying anything that promised the key to the life I've always wanted; the me I always knew was in there and the potential I've never fulfilled. Out of all the books I've bought ( thousands) none led to me changing in the long term, if anything 'analysis is paralysis' and I've spent my life living in an alternative dream state avoiding too much pain by getting by on numbing habits and chronic underachievement to avoid too much stress. The closest books to helping me were Sydney Banks and Erkhart Tolle and most recently a lot of various books on neuroplasticity and rewiring your brain. I found Sydney Banks helpful but complicated and read the Jamie Smart 'clarity' and Michael Neill 'inside out' books but really just a rip off of Sydney Banks and a redirect to their website where you can pay for more of the same.
Joey Lott has tied up the loose ends for me, yet showed me why all the other books couldn't work. I'm going to accept all the experiences as they are, which itself is a first for me, I've known for years that my brain hasn't done anything but keep me in a fear state and I'm ready to not try and control my thinking and let the thoughts and fears roll and dissolve-and be with life as it is, not as it was or will be. It's as if my whole life I've been forcing my brain to diet on good thoughts and happy feelings whilst squashing my cravings for fear and strong unhappy emotion. Surely anything can be better than being (un) comfortably numb? Please try the book, it's cheap, he doesn't sell you a webinar for money and he's been to some low places and is refreshingly open. I will update in a couple of months in case I've not been coherent. But I'm excited and a little nervous that this may be the answer after all the years of futile living.

Raw, gritty, dirty, yet warm and full of compassion for "What Is" 17. Mai 2014
Von Georg Beck - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition
Having read many non-duality books over the years, this one really stands out, at least for me!
Because Joey Lott does not shy away from calling it "As It Is."
"The Best Thing That Never Happened" is raw, gritty, dirty, yet warm and full of compassion for the apparent "Me" and for "What Is."
Years ago, I attended a meeting with Jeff Foster and I remember leaving the meeting confused and slightly angry.
To make a long story short: I don't like sugarcoating. (No offense to Jeff.)
And the author does not sugarcoat.
The book makes me think of Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" record.
It's intense but light, it speeds up and slows down, it takes you off the road, through the mud, it's a little out of tune and far from complete.
Because it can't be.
And that is enough.

I really resonated with this book and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone; and I mean Everyone.

A friend of mine sent me a copy of this book as an Amazon Gift. When I began to read it, I could not put it down. I loved it so much that I ended up taking the free e-course that Joey offers, and purchasing 14 of his other books. His message is so direct that it goes straight to the core and the exercises are very powerful and direct as well. Some of what he says is similar to what others are saying and have said. But, I must say, I find Joe’s writings and the exercises that he offers to be much simpler and effective. His writings and exercises are not head work; they are transformational. I highly recommend his readings to the serious individual that is sincerely looking to explore our true nature, and put a stop to the enclosing and painful limitations of thought and its emotional roller coaster—FREEDOM.

I love Joe’s explanation of how the limbic system works. It helps so much in seeing how it all begins to happen, how habits of emotionally reactive patterns begin to form. We are not even aware of what’s hitting us. I find his deprograming techniques to be very good for obsessive thoughts and all types of addictions. He makes familiar things simpler, like tapping and eye movement exercises.

Thank you Joey!

Joey Offers A Very Accessible Clarity! 23. Mai 2014
Von Michael - Veröffentlicht auf
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
I have read countless (way too many) "Spiritual" and more recently Non-Dual books in my thirty search for apparent enlightenment. While I have understood the futility of this search for some time, mostly with the help of Tony Parsons, Joey offers a fresh, down and dirty, clever, humorous, compassionate and accessible clarity that makes seeing reality as it is, effortless. Yes, This Is It! Thank You Joey!!!

5 stars for the message 3. November 2014

It seems to me, that the message of this book might be summarized by the following pointer... which originated a few years ago from Kenneth Folk.

You can stop now. Stop trying to figure it out. Stop trying to get enlightened. Stop concentrating. Stop investigating. Stop meditating. Stop trying to stop.

Be as you are.

Your true nature is not "you." Neither is it other than you. It is not the "Witness." It's not your True Self, or a Big Self that subsumes your small self. Your true nature is the true nature of everything. You don't have to do anything to be it; nothing you could do would make you other than it. You can't mess it up or tarnish or stain it. You've never been apart from it. In order to recognize it, you have only to stop adding "yourself" to it. To even refer to this most fundamental of realities as "it" or to call it anything at all is to risk reducing it to a concept and thereby missing it.

Nothing you can do will lead to this. Nothing you can do or not do will lead you away from this. No amount of meditative attainment or achievement will get you any closer or any further away. The very act of doing or intending anything is something you are adding to this moment; when you are actively doing something, even something so seemingly innocuous as investigating your experience, you are "compounding" or adding something extra to your experience. Surrender now.

May you be happy.
