This really is a great book especially for a beginner of Asian cooking. I had never cooked with a wok before and this provides the information you need to get started. There are pictures for every recipe and accessory. The recipes are wonderful! A great book I would recommend for anyone.

I have tried at least a dozen recipes in this book, and every one of them has been disappointing. I bought the book, because I liked the fact that nutritional information was given for each recipe. Most of the recipes I tried were from the Vegetarian Main Dishes section. I did try two recipes from Meat Dishes, and one from Appetizers. I have a lot of experience cooking, and don't mind it if hours are spent on a recipe that is good. Unfortunately, the recipes I tried from this book were very time consuming, but not worth the effort. There are many books that have far better recipes than this one.

Im really good at the Japanese and other asian dishes that I can cook and having this book make me feeli like I'm doing it right. If your are ready to skip over the fake American ways of cooking Asian cuisine this is one of the best ways to do it. I Reccomend
This book for anyone who is an intermediate at cooking Asian foods and who has a great deal of patience. I've been cooking since I was ten years old and Asian food and Italian has been my specialy. I love this book also because I make bento lunches everyday for school to avoid spending money on food I don't want to eat at at all. Enjoy this book, I think anyone who is interested and experienced will love it

I have tried several recipe's from this cookbook. Very interesting to the palate as it is not the usual taste as an Asian Take-out or sit down Asian Restaurant dinner.This book contains recipe's for real Asian food, not American contrived Asian Food. I Mostly had problems with spices and ingredients that are hard to find in and around the local stores, including two very well stocked Asian food stores...sometimes having accesss to one ingredient and not another/others hampers and dampens getting really involved with many, many recipe's..... I did purchase, on-line, KIRFUR LEAVES----- to freeze,.... which by the way,was mailed from Thai Land.....(so my suggestion for things not found locally). This made a problem in as much as gathering to prepare.. and enjoy. ... It was frustrating. However, if one perseveres, either by internet or in their travels, one can experiment and enjoy a rather delightful cuisine. I must say, when I purchase this Cookbook for myself I was really delighted with so many flavors and tastes portraid. My adult granddaughter was also looking forward to embracing the recipe's.
