The book may look like a Cinderella story, and at it's core it is, however it is so much better than that.

Ella (Eleanor) is not a harassed and abused stepsister, she is in fact a respected and loved member of her family. Yes she has only her stepmother and stepsisters, but none are evil, rather each is differently irrational or naive. The step family was actually one of my favorite parts, because I got side characters that I could cheer on for, even though I loved the main couple. Each person has their endearing qualities, none are mary-sue perfect by any means (even Ella), and that meant that you could connect with them easily.

The best part of the book was how ridiculously funny it is. I cannot count how many times I stopped reading to recount parts to my roommate just because the laughter needed to be shared. The humor has a bit of satire, but it is not poking fun at fairytale romance as its focus. In my opinion, the humor was spot on to make the fairytale not cliche, but original (which, let's face it, is hard to do sometimes).

If you want a book that is a fun read, especially for laughs, I definitely recommend this book. I will definitely be looking for more by the author in the future. In fact, all I wanted to do when finishing was give her a big hug, it was that great.

I was surprised to read the one star reviews calling it porn etc..... I've read a lot worse. The story was solid entertaining and by all means those of you that don't like the sex scenes skip it and it won't help or hinder the story at all. I was glad to have read it for free and look forward to more by the author.

I rate this 3.5 stars. I bought this book after reading all the 5 start reviews mentioning the fun aspect of the book. To me there's nothing better than a romantic fun book. I enjoyed the book but it fail to capture me from the start. Up until 26% I was thinking I had made a mistake buying it, but thankfully I didn't it. The story is quite nice. It has some very sweet moments that I truly enjoyed, some very nice passionate scenes and yes, some funny scenes. That being said I felt like the funny scenes seemed a bit forced. I can't count how many times I read "he laughed", "she laughed" .........just a bit overdone I think. I liked the book but it's not up there with my 5 or 4 star ones.
