The film was directed by Stanley Donen in 1967 and is screamingly funny and charming. I love its British humor, the smart wordplays, sly jokes and its physical humor (see the nuns on trampolines!!). Stanley Donen's Bedazzled is more than a brilliant comedy; people may see in it an intelligent "theological" movie addressing the questions of faith, free will, good and evil hilariously.
Dudley Moore plays the broken-hearted Stanley Moon, a hapless short-order cook who is hopelessly in love with a waitress named Margaret (Eleanor Bron). Peter Cook is the evil, yet very loveable "Devil", George Spiggot, who grants Stanley seven wishes in order to win Margaret over, but the Seven Deadly Sins get in the way of his efforts (one of them played by Raquel Welch--a gorgeous embodiment of "Lust").
This edition (2007) is also recommendable because of its great image and wide-screen.
