I'd actually forgotten about how easy it is to use beans in my own cooking, and this book is a great reminder to use them more often. I made the Chickpea Noodle Soup today, and it is excellent! (Two thumbs up from my 8 year old as well! Winning!) I picked up a few cans of organic garbanzo beans this time, and I plan on making a trip to the bulk store soon to see what other beans I can find. Suddenly I am interested in trying to make beans "from scratch", even though the recipes are suited to both fast-and-easy canned beans, or extra-bragging-rights home cooked beans. ;)

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to increase their dietary fiber (beans are a fantastic source) and to anyone who enjoys creating wholesome, real food.

I'm always looking for new ways to prepare beans. Paging through this book, I saw many yummy sounding recipes that I'm excited to add to my food routine. This book is actually a good combination of info on why you consider adding (more) beans to your plan, practical tips for buying and storing beans, and great recipes that include detailed nutritional info about each dish.

Several of the dishes included are even meat, egg, and dairy free. So, even if you're veggie or vegan, you can find lots of tastiness in this book. All of the recipes look really good, and there's truly something for everyone.

Overall, a great look at the superfood that is beans.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it will not be a cookbook that is never opened! The recipe "Walnut Hummus" is a delicious spin on the typical Hummus I make. I also realized after reading this book that I had all the ingredients to make "Simply Lima Beans". Many of these recipes require no extra food purchases, just what staples are in the house. The only problem I had with this book was the description of how to determine how much fiber you need. It said to divide two numbers, but I looked at the example, it multiplied it. I eventually figured it out. I'm super happy to have this book.

Thank you to Ms Marks for giving us this wonderful book of outstanding recipes. She also explains what beans are best for what purposes, and how to cook them the correct way. I can't wait to try them out on my family. Oh, they are so delicious
