The book is a comprehensive treatment of the topic. High growth here is not defined by any particular growth rates of revenues or job creation. Rather, the author has included companies deemed to have the potential to become fast growing, as a result of new technology, new business approach, or new market conditions. These companies are generally difficult to assess and value, as there is usually a dearth of historical data and comparable information. The author has thoroughly researched and tackled these issues, and shares his findings in this book, which is divided into three parts, covering
1) The theoretical foundation of the assessment and valuation of high growth companies;
2) Empirical studies; and
3) Practical relevance.
The research and results presented are based on data collected from nearly 100 assessments and valuations performed by Venture Valuation, of which the author, Patrik Frei, is the CEO and founder.
