Small, Special, Precious, and Delightful

The four books in the Lark Studio Series -- Pendants, Art Tiles, Handmade Books, and Chairs, with more apparently to come -- are wonderful little packages of artistic inspiration that can fit in your pocket or purse, as well as on your bookshelf at about 5 inches square. With about 100 great images (one per spread over about 200 pages) in each book taken from the correlate title in Lark's 500 Series, this is a very different type of book -- lighter, more fun, less academic. To be sure, the one does not replace the other, but the attractive price points of these little books, the excellent designs and photography, and the friendly feel make them excellent little gifts, wonderful stocking stuffers for the holidays, and precious little sources of delight and inspiration year-round.

Nice Book on Art Tiles - Recommended

This well made small hardback book is part of the Lark Studio Series of "Art Books" that provide page after page of gorgeous photos on the subjects they cover. I was thrilled to be offered these books to review since we are heavily into product photography and crafts in my wife's small business.
As noted above the book is physically very small, roughly 5" square, but packs 97 or so high quality full color pictures and includes the artist's name, the name of the piece, the size and materials used. This is not a how to reference book, but it certainly can be used to inspire artists in making their own works.

Smaller version of another book, just packaged differently with less content

I was very dissapointed with this book. I bought it and another book called 500 tiles. Both are beautiful, well photographed and edited. However 500 tiles is more comprehensive and has more artists, photos and information. This book uses identical photos, stories and artists only considerably less. What annoyed me was that They used different cover art and a different name which is very deceptive. To return it would cost 1/2 of the book value, so Ill save it to give to someone someday.
