A story with wonderful adventures made possible thanks to the master Phileas Fogg--an English gentleman with a brilliant mind, reticent nature and an equally true character, and his loyal Parisian servant Jean Passepartout--a garrulous, audacious and enthusiastic travel companion. From both men we are given two different perspectives on their travels around the world, which makes this book so wonderful.
Jules Verne paints many scenes with words that are descriptive of the cultures visited by his characters, in a balanced, unbias and respectful way. Jules Verne has an eye for the obvious and the not so obvious. Jules Verne gives the reader a wonderful insight on the many characters he has created without being too wordy. Truly an author with ingenious thinking and a beautiful writing style that I admire.
