Über den Autor
Gilles Deleuze wurde 1925 in Paris geboren. Bereits vor seiner Professur an der Sorbonne zeichnete sich Deleuze durch philosophiegeschichtliche Studien über Spinoza, Bergson, Hume, Kant und Nietzsche aus. 1995 beging Deleuze nach langer und schwerer Krankheit Selbstmord.Félix Guattari, geboren 1930 in Villeneuve-les-Sablons, gestorben 1992, lehrte am Collége de Philosophie in Paris. Seine Schriften, zum Großteil in Zusammenarbeit mit Gilles Deleuze entstanden, spannen thematisch einen Bogen von den Bereichen Philosophie, Wirtschaft, Politik bis hin zur klinischen Psychoanalyse.

Extremely dense, muddy prose slung half way between poetic delerium and hardened theory, this vast experiement in writing is fascinating in its ability to have turned over seemingly everything- and liberally shaken. This can be a masochistic experience for any reader, although I think that it is one of the most interesting philosophical texts written this century. Certainly seems essential reading for budding psychoanalysts, intending social theorists and anybody interested in the problem of fascism. 'Dip in and out of it', as has been suggested by another reviwer.

An amazingly distilled discussion exploring the fascistic roots of psycholanalysis, Marxism, and capitalism. Certainly not for the timid of heart, Deleuze-Guatarri weave a tapestry than unravels soon after reading. A must for anyone interested in post-structural discussions of power.

The way that Deleuze and Guattari write ould possibly give them the schizophrenic label that they criticize. Their art is perhaps their weak point, in that it takes a long time to distill anything from this book. But what you get out of it is a explanation of the roots from which fascism can arise within us all, as well as a whole slew of other thinking points. Buy it and keep it on the shelf. Dip in and out.
