The advantage of a short and straight-ward book allows me to grab the general idea of AngularJS in one-two days, pretty great and efficient start!

Just the Essentials of AngularJS in a Single Location 7. Oktober 2014
Von Dustin Marx - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
AngularJS Essentials introduces the essential portions of AngularJS developers will use to build AngularJS-based web applications. Although most of the material covered in "AngularJS Essentials" is available in online AngularJS resources such as the AngularJS Developer Guide and AngularJS Tutorial, "AngularJS Essentials" provides a structured approach to learning this framework that can be a nice complement and guide for making the most of the available online resources.

"AngularJS Essentials" uses a simple example throughout the book that is built up as different concepts are introduced. The book includes a chapter on unit testing and mocking with AngularJS (describes and illustrates use of Jasmine, Karma, and ngMock) and a chapter on packaging and distributing AngularJS-based applications (describes and illustrates use of Grunt and Bower). Although much of the "core" of "AngularJS" is on APIs that are documented well publicly, the book provides code listings in addition to the narrative that demonstrate applicability of these APIs.

"AngularJS Essentials" is almost completely focused on AngularJS with only very minimal mention of underlying technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Readers of "AngularJS Essentials" will find the book most useful if they already have basic familiarity and knowledge of these underlying technologies.

There are 8 chapters and approximately 150 substantive pages in "AngularJS Essentials." It is not intended as an exhaustive reference of AngularJS, but instead introduces key aspects of the AngularJS framework.

The code listings in "AngularJS Essentials" are black text on a white background without line numbers, though the most relevant code in a particular code listing is often highlighted in bold text. There are a couple graphics included, but the two I found most interesting are adapted from the online AngularJS documentation.

"AngularJS Essentials" is probably best suited for a developer familiar with web development in general, but with little knowledge of AngularJS. "AngularJS Essentials" will also appeal most strongly to developers who prefer a single structured book as their source for learning a new framework rather than use of online references and tutorials. The best use of "AngularJS Essentials" may be to provide structure for learning basics of AngularJS and then expanding on that knowledge with more in-depth blog ports and articles.

Packt Publishing provided the electronic copy of AngularJS Essentials I reviewed (PDF), but I received no additional compensation for this review.

Best Angularjs Book 15. September 2014
Von dasn0wman - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
One of the better books out there on this topic. This book has the advantage of being short and to the point and will get you programming in Angularjs in no time. It's more practical as opposed to a nuts and bolts reference. I found most of the examples are something I would do in a real application as opposed to only demo code that serves to only illustrate the technology.

This book is great for beginning and intermediate web developers 26. September 2014
Von Jon - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is great for beginning and intermediate web developers, whether they are just starting out with AngularJS, or have some experience but may still have some underlying questions about the framework. The history of the internet section is a nice touch for beginners, but it doesn't trudge on endlessly about it like some computer-related books do.

Explains what exactly what AngularJS is and how it works exactly.

Explains various application file & folder structures and different case uses including when to use them.

You can tell by reading the book that the author has a great deal of experience and is able to break things down into short, straight-to-the-point sections for those who are just getting started. The examples are easy to follow along with, and I enjoy the fact that he also delves into some standard workflow principles (unit testing, grunt, etc), which should help some people who want to jump right in and start building a web application after reading the book.

A good starting point for beginners ! 15. November 2014
Von Arunkarthik - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
I have basic knowledge about web application development and have a little exposure to HTML, CSS and Javascript. I personally feel that this is a very good starting point for web application developers who are trying to get a hands-on in AngularJS. The book is not a complete reference, but will definitely come in handy for doing a quick check on syntax and a review of basic concepts of AngularJS.

The book starts with a quick introduction to web languages and tells about setting up the AngularJS framework. Also, the author explains about organizing the code in AngularJS with a simple example. An example of car parking application is used throughout the book which makes our understanding easy.

Then, we get into a simple and powerful concept of javascript called directives. Starting with ngApp, ngController and ngRepeat, the author explains about some of the build-in directives that are crucial for application development. Also, the book covers about the creation of user directives and simple animation.

Next, it is the data handling with AngularJS. Basics of data handling like – presenting data, transforming, synchronization and data validation. Dependency injection and the creation of different types of constants and services is explained next. Also, we learn about event handling, timeouts and exceptions.

$scope and $rootscope are explained next followed by the concept of data binding. After data binding, another important concept in AngularJS – Modules is explained. This chapter helps us understand how breaking up of an application to modules is helpful in development. Finally, we learn about Unit testing using Jasmine and Karma and the workflow automation.

This is a very good book and I highly recommend it for starters in web application development using AngularJS.
