Even though it's for kids, I couldn't pass up this book for my 3D collection. Made from hard cardboard stock, the book it quite sturdy and very colorful. Since I already have the best anaglyphic glasses available, the ProAna specs (which you can get here on Amazon), I left the included specs attached to the book. Story wise, it's a humorous retelling of the three Prequel films (only highlighting certain plot elements concerning Anakin), with a bit of the endings to both "A New Hope" and "Return of the Jedi" as a finish. In the area of 3D, all of the images are in red/cyan anaglyphic format. They are nicely done, but not amazing. Granted, the artwork is excellent in 3D, and some imagery has five or six levels of depth, but being that you are looking at art instead of real photos, you only get dimensional layering. The views are missing that realistic feeling of contouring you get with perfectly done anaglyphic images, like I share in my Flickr.com photostream. For example, when looking at a ship that shows it has multiple angles and layers of depth all over it, all you see in 3D is a 2D ship layer hovering dimensionally over a background, which is 2D as well, with other 2D elements layered at different levels in 3D, all to give a feeling of space. Yes, that is what 3D is, but if the art doesn't have any layers within itself (edges, contours, depressions, etc.), then it just doesn't look all that amazing in 3D. In short, I like the book for it's humor and art, and the 3D is decent, but it could have been done better with more time put into it.
