Simon Combes book more than fulfilled my expectations. He has captured the mystique of East African Wildlife better than any other, and has now combined his paintings with very readable stories. Some would describe this as a coffee table book, and rightly so, but we found that we could not put it down, and have picked it up night after night since purchasing it a few weeks ago. If you have been to the Kenya or Tanzania, you'll love this book.

I bought this book as a present for my parents after they took a safari to Kenya. They love this book! It sits on their coffee table and they encourage all who stop by to view it. The story of the author/artists life is remarkable. The beautiful artwork which accompanies the tales of living in Kenya are so life like it's amazing.

Quality paintings of Africa and its magnificent wildlife. As an artist, Simon's paintings have taught me so much !!! His inspiring oils capture the animals soul and the essence of the land. His people portraits are spectacular too! I feel so lucky to have this book and a glimpse of one of our finest artists! In a heaven that floats him over his beloved Africa...I hope he knows how much his work is loved.

A Must for Lovers of Wild Art

I love this book and will treasure it. I hated coming to the end of it and hope to get a copy of his second book - Great Cats - and read of more of his adventures as he travels around the world . Apart from the animals, I think his painting of trees, bushes, grassland and dust is superb. So sad that it was a buffalo that ended his life.
